Popular Former ‘Bachelor’ Plans To Boycott Franchise Over Chris Harrison Exit
Apparently, it’s not just Bachelor fans that are upset with Chris Harrison permanently leaving the franchise. There’s a former lead who plans to boycott the show in light of Chris leaving. In fact, this lead is one of the most popular former leads in Bachelor history. So, who is it and what’s the story behind it?
Former lead to boycott franchise following Chris Harrison exit
Which former lead plans to not watch The Bachelor franchise anymore due to Chris Harrison permanently exiting the show? The answer may shock some. According to US Weekly, Catherine Giudici Lowe says her husband Sean Lowe will not be watching Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette.
Catherine said, “I’m watching it. My husband is kind of boycotting it because of the Chris Harrison stuff, but I’m watching it this season to support the girls.” She continued, “It’s been interesting. It’s been an interesting season. It’s just the beginning. … I’m excited for Katie [Thurston].”
When Chris made it official he was really leaving for good, Sean and Catherine were two of the many alums who commented on his Instagram post. Sean said, “It will never be the same. Love you buddy.” Catherine also shared similar sentiments. She said, she loved him and she was also very proud of him.
Another alum, Michelle Money, noted she will also not be watching the show anymore.

It was a shock to many when ABC and Chris confirmed he was done hosting The Bachelor after nearly 20 years. The controversy started when he seemingly defended Rachael Kirkconnell for her past racist actions. Since then, Matt James has forgiven and reconciled with Rachael. However, Chris was sent packing by the franchise. Of course, he did receive a hefty payout.
However, it’s been noted by a source that Chris can’t talk about it much until things are legally and contractually cleared up.
In the meantime, Chris is living life in Texas. Lauren Zima is still by his side and as supportive as ever. Nobody knows just yet what Chris Harrison’s next move will be. The majority of Bachelor Nation is not happy over the decision to let Chris leave the franchise. Things just somehow are not the same without Chris announcing the final rose of the night.
With that said, fans feel Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams have been doing a great job of stepping in as guest hosts.
