The ABC hit series The Rookie is in its 3rd season and fans are getting anxious. The cop drama, which stars Firefly actor Nathan Fillion, has aired 4 episodes since the season premiere on January 3rd. Fans are eager to see Nathan as well as the rest of the cast in Episode 5 entitled Lockdown. However, fans who tuned in last night were disappointed to find there was no new episode. So when will fans be able to watch the new episode of The Rookie and what is the reason for the delay?

Episode 5: Lockdown

ABC has released a promo video giving fans a taste of what is to come for Nolan. The episode entitled Lockdown is going to focus on Nolan’s exam. His anxiety is taking its toll as he focuses on the implications the exam will have on his career. He takes some hilarious advice from Harper who suggests he “shakes it out”. This results in what will assuredly be a comical scene.

However, things will not stay funny for long as it appears Nolan will be taken, hostage. How will Nolan handle the situation? How will his fellow officers react? Will Nolan get out of it unscathed? Fans will have to wait until February 14th to find out.

Why The Hiatus?

Fans will have to wait two weeks to find out what happens to Nolan. ABC made the decision to go on a temporary hiatus until after Superbowl LV. Superbowl LV is airing on February 7th on CBS. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are taking on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what will be a historic game. Brady and Mahomes faced off for the only other time in the 2018 AFC Championship Game. Mahomes will look to come out with his second win against the future Hall of Fame quarterback. Superbowl LV will be held in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay. Brady will look to be the first quarterback in NFL history to win a Superbowl in his home stadium.

Tom Brady’s status as “The G.O.A.T” is both widely accepted and widely argued. A Tampa Bay win will solidify his status as “The Greatest Of All Time”. However, Patrick Mahomes has already made history in his short time in the NFL. A Kansas City win will arguably open the door to a new generation of quarterback and propel Mahomes’ status. Being the youngest quarterback to go to the AFC Championship game three straight seasons, Mahomes is also looking to grab a second Superbowl win back to back. Mahomes may not yet be “The G.O.A.T.,” but that title could very well be up for grabs on February 7th at 6:30 pm ET on CBS.

With such a popular matchup as Mahomes vs. Brady in Superbowl LV, fans will have to wait until February 14th at 9 pm ET to see the new episode of The Rookie. Be sure to check back with TV Shows Ace for more news and updates.
