‘DWTS’ Fans Are Not Happy About ‘Disney Night’ – Why Not?

Disney Night is usually one of the most popular theme nights on Dancing With The Stars. However, this season, fans aren’t having it. Fans are already upset that long-time host Tom Bergeron was unceremoniously dumped for Tyra Banks to step in the role. Erin Andrews was also given her walking papers.

Many fans feel that the America’s Next Top Model host is making the dance competition all about herself. But fans took a break from hating Tyra to lodge a new complaint against the show. Fans are calling ABC out for recycling the same old songs for DWTS’s Disney Night.

DWTS Recycling Disney Songs for Disney Night

Who doesn’t love Disney movies? DWTS fans do, but they wish ABC would be more creative when choosing songs for the Disney Night theme. In fact, fans can recite off-hand the previous contestants who used the same song and dance in previous seasons.

In anticipation of Disney Night, ABC released the song list for the upcoming live episode. You can read the complete list here. However, it included familiar movies such as The Lion King, Pirates of The Caribbean and Mulan.

In addition to the list, the official account revealed teaser clips of some of the DWTS contestants and the movie choices. And fans had a lot to say about it! While many fans can’t wait, others took the opportunity to call ABC out for recycling the same songs and dances season after season.

For example, Catfish star Nev Schulman will dance an Argentine Tango to “Angelica.” In Season 25, Frankie Muniz danced to the same Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides song. In fact, there have been several routines fearing Pirates of the Caribbean songs on Disney Night. Riker Lynch and James Van Der Beek both performed a Paso Doble in different seasons to the song “He’s a Pirate.”

Fans want to know why ABC won’t dip into the Disney archives for new songs.

Fans Are Getting Sick of Carole Baskin Dancing to Cat Songs

Another thing getting on fans’ nerves is Carole Baskin song choices. While DWTS just finished week 2, the Tiger King star has danced to only cat-themed songs. In the season premiere, she danced to “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. For her second performance, the music was Tom Jones’ “What’s News Pussycat?”

So, of course ABC chooses a Lion King song for Carole Baskin. On Disney Night, she will dance the Samba to “Circle of Life.” Boyz II Men singer Wayna Morris did the Samba to the same song during DWTS Season 22, per Inquisitr.
