Ty Pennington Is Getting Back In The Swing Of Things With A Hammer On His New HGTV Show
For those fans who have been missing Ty Pennington swinging a hammer, the wait is over. The former Trading Spaces star is going to have a new HGTV show called, Ty Breaker. The series will be eight episodes of demo, plaster, and fun!
The concept is a little different than the other shows. The family will have a choice between overhauling their home or starting with a new renovation. Pennington is on the side of the fence trying to keep them in their same home. One of the other stars of the show; Alison Victoria, Grace Mitchell, or Sabrina Soto will be trying to get them to go the other way.
Ty Pennington Is Just Glad To Be Back
Ty Pennington told People, “I am so happy to be back in my element on Ty Breaker— helping people to not only love their space but showing them how to LIVE in it.” He went on to say they will address challenges families face all the time. The competition element of the show just makes it more exciting.
Ty had previously talked about the show saying he was thrilled to be involved in something from infancy. He said, “let’s face it, it’s been a tough year for everyone.”
Pennington went on to say if fans felt overwhelmed or stressed they needed to remember a lot can change in a year. He said now he’s working on a show to help people find and design their dream home. He said, “I I’m so stoked to be working with a trailblazing team of creatives. Where it leads, I can’t be certain but it’s a LONG way from where I was 1 year ago.”

Is He Bitter About Losing Extreme Makeover: Home Edition?
Ty Pennington made a comment about his previous job saying his ego took a huge hit. He said, “exactly one year ago, I was asked to return to a job that I had done successfully – for almost a decade. This time around though, my position was given to someone else.”
Ty hosted Extreme Makeover for nine years. Now Jesse Tyler Ferguson of Modern Family hosts the show. Ty said, “it left me SO confused. I began doubting my talent, my experience and my overall belief in myself. But the job was never about me!” He said he went back for a guest spot on the reboot because it was about the person they were helping. Ty said, “I dusted myself off, strapped on my boots and chipped in to help.”
While he called it a “bittersweet” experience, he’s happy to be on a new path now. He urges fans to be patient and believe in themselves. The future is bringing something good. Fans will be eager for the show’s premiere in 2021.
