LPBW: Tori Roloff

  1. I was baptized as a baby. I am so happy about Tori’s decision to be baptized. I was twelve years old when I accepted Jesus as my Savior. God has seen me through a lot. I was born with a rare genetic disorder called Marfan Syndrome. It is a connective tissue disorder that affects 1 in 500,000 people in the United States. God has seen me through 2 open heart surgeries, foot surgery, knee surgery, appendectomy, gallbladder removal, and pacemaker implantation. He has done so much for me.
I had my first open heart in 1993. I was having really bad chest pain, and ended up in the hospital with what turned out to be an Aortic Aneurysm that was 9cm. across. I was also told about Marfan Syndrome, at the same time. I originally was supposed to go to Johns-Hopkins University Hospital to have my surgery. But, the hospital didn’t take my insurance. We found the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. Then, I broke my leg and had to wait until I was mostly healed to have the surgery. So, the surgeon that was to do my surgery got transferred to another hospital. So, we found the wonderful doctor that I had. I found out later that these were some of the best in the country for my type of surgery. I feel that this was God’s thumbprint. When He closes a door, He opens another.
