Could Lala Kent Of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star On The ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake’?
Since Bravo just confirmed the new Housewives will be set in Salt Lake City, one Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent is stoked. Lala was born and raised in Salt Lake so it stands to reason she’d be excited the show will be filmed there.
Andy Cohen made the announcement for the new series at BravoCon according to The Cheat Sheet. There’s long been speculation about where a new franchise would start filming.

Lala Kent Is Thrilled They’ll Be A Housewives In Her Own Town
According to Bravo, Andy told Lala Kent the show was going to be good. Kent said, “I’m from Salt Lake City so this was like Christmas for me!”
Lala also said she’s not surprised they picked Salt Lake. She said, “I’m not even shocked by that because people that were raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, are crazy. So it’s gonna make the best TV ever.”
Lala Kent fully expects this to be the best Real Housewives. She said it’s crazy they had all the cities to choose from and picked her hometown. Kent said she told them, “ladies, put on for my city. Please!”
Since Lala lives in California and is a full-time member of the Vanderpump Rules cast it’s unlikely she’ll be on the show. But if the franchise lasts awhile it moght be a next step for her. Lala’s costar Katie Maloney is also from Salt Lake City.
Why They Are Filming In Salt Lake City
Despite Lala Kent saying it’s going to be the best show ever, some fans are unhappy. Lala is also happy her fiance Randall Emmett will be on the show with her this time around. She thinks Vanderpump fans will instantly understand why they’re together. She says they have the exact same sense of humor.
There are fans that think choosing SLC was a terrible move. Cohen said they like to throw curve balls at people and no one expected Salt Lake City to get a RH franchise. He went on to say Salt Lake City has a lot going for it. There’s a rich population and beautiful scenery. The place is a hot bed for celebrities with the Sundance Film Festival and exclusive ski resorts among other things.
No matter what most fans are excited to get a new franchise to watch. It will be interesting to see if any Mormons make it onto the cast of the new show. They’ll be watching along with Lala Kent when the show airs. So far a release date hasn’t been announced.
