‘LPBW’ Jeremy Roloff Undergoes Inguinal Hernia Surgery – Is It Serious?
LPBW alum, Jeremy Roloff took to his Instagram this weekend and told fans he underwent Inguinal hernia surgery. He also said that unlike his brother Zach, it’s the first time he had an operation like this. Fans know that Zach suffers from dwarfism and they sometimes need corrective surgery. TV Shows Ace reported earlier this year, “Due to his condition, dwarfism, he has dealt with several health problems in the past.” Now, Jeremy also told his fans he neglected his health and intends taking it more seriously in the future.
LPBW alum Jeremy Roloff ignored his hernia problem for a while
On his Instagram, Jeremy explained what happened with his hernia. he wrote, “Yesterday I had my first surgery. Inguinal hernia surgery. I’ve had a hernia for the past few years, but thought I could live with it in order to avoid surgery, so I ignored it.” Well, many people, hope things will just go away, so he’s not alone. But, he added, “over the last several months I’ve been having some increasing health concerns, specifically severe lower back pain and chronic shoulder pain. I’ve come to realize that I’ve been subconsciously protecting my hernia with poor posture and lack of core strength.”
Like others who experience hernia pain, Jeremy stopped doing too much “physical exercise.” But, that just made things worse “because of muscle loss which has me walking weird as well. I’ve been ignoring my health and it all came to a head when just a few days ago I threw out my back after sneezing.” So having learned his lesson, the LPBW alum vows, “I’m considering this a turn in my health journey. I have a goal to be in the best shape of my life by 32. Health is something that needs continual attention or else it unnoticeably fades – like most things in life. Time to put some attention back on personal health!”
How serious is an Inguinal hernia?
The Mayo Clinic Org notes that Inguinal hernias seem relatively common. On their website, they say that sometimes people feel the hernia which protrudes through the abdominal wall. Sometimes, they can gently push it back, and the problem goes away. but, like Jeremy, if it gets neglected, it can become a lot worse. Complications might arise, and these include “Nausea, vomiting or both, fever, sudden pain that quickly intensifies, a hernia bulge that turns red, purple or dark, and the inability to move your bowels or pass gas.”
If those symptoms appear you could suffer from a “strangulated hernia.” They add, “An incarcerated hernia can cut off blood flow to part of your intestine. Strangulation can lead to the death of the affected bowel tissue. A strangulated hernia is life-threatening and requires immediate surgery.” Well, it looks like LPBW star Jeremy didn’t get that far advanced, but if he left it much longer, it could have been worse.

Fans react to Jeremy’s surgery
On his Instagram, fans reacted to the news of his surgery. One person had a similar operation and encouraged him. They commented, “I had a hiatal hernia repair and it’s been life changing. Congrats on taking good care of you.” one Little People, Big World fan, much like Jeremy feared a surgical procedure, and noted, “I have that too. I’ll probably be on nexium forever. Too scared for surgery.”
