Kim Kardashian Tells Reporters She ‘Got In Trouble’ with Kanye After Letting Daughter, North Wear Lipstick
Kim Kardashian says that she ‘got in trouble’ with husband, Kanye West after she let their daughter, North, wear makeup.
The infamous eldest Kardashian girl recently sat down with E! News for a brief interview at a launch party for her recent makeup line collab with model Winnie Harlow. She revealed to reporters that while 6-year-old North West loves to wear cosmetics and beauty products she is no longer allowing her to do so.
Kim Kardashian Lets North Wear Makeup?
Despite being only six, North West has already made her entrance into the world of modeling, beauty, and fame. The spunky and charming youngster has already shot covers for magazines and even broke into modeling during a L.O.L Dolls inspired runway show last year.
Kim Kardashian, who has been in the beauty business most of her life, would occasionally let North wear subtle amounts of makeup during events. She also emphasized that she limited her use of cosmetics to a ‘pop’ of something, usually a lip color or some colorful eyeshadow. The mom of four has been known to post photos of North on social media and has on many posts featured her wearing makeup.
“I’d let her wear — you know, she has a little red for Christmas — I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something,” Kim explained to E! News. “I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip.” – Kim Kardashian West
Kim Kardashian ‘Gets in Trouble’
According to Kim, husband Kanye West recently decided that he had had enough of his six-year-old wearing makeup which led to some sort of argument between the two. During last Thursday’s interview with E! Interview at L’Avenue at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, Kim revealed that letting her daughter wear makeup had gotten her ‘in trouble’ with Kanye.
Kim went on to describe that Kanye’s reaction was not a positive one. “I think he had it, he changed all the rules,” she told E! So, it’s now no more makeup.”
Based on Kim’s social media post history, it’s easy to see why Kanye put the kibosh on North’s makeup habits. On numerous occasions, the Hollywood Mom posted pics of little North wearing more than ‘just a pop’.
The photo below is just one example of the many Kim has shared with social media followers. This snap featured North in her pj’s working on her makeup look which included foundation, nose contouring, and grey eyeshadow. When posted, Kim added a text graphic that read ‘contour queen’.
It’s a Family Thing
Those who are familiar with Kim Kardashian and her family clan know that they are actually a pretty tight-knit clan. Based on the recent interview at the launch party, it seems that Mommy wasn’t the only one encouraging the tot to experiment with makeup. In fact, According to Kim, North often enjoyed experimenting with numerous lip kits that her aunt Kylie Jenner gave her from her own makeup line. Kylie even featured North in numerous photographs on Snapchat modeling the different lip colors several years back.
Still a Blossoming Style Icon
Despite Daddy Kanye shutting down her makeup game, North is still quite the budding fashionista. Mom says that she is still allowed to ‘weigh-in’ on her style and fashion preferences. It’s clear she definitely puts her unique personality into everything she wears. North has been photographed wearing everything from leather to faux fur and clearly has a knack for concepts and design.

Back in August, KKW told fans that ‘Northie’ loved styling and designing her own clothes and jokingly added that maybe she should ask her daughter to do the same for her.
