‘Below Deck Mediterranean’: Hannah Ferrier Reveals That Yachting Is Not As Carefree As It Looks
Below Deck Mediterranean star Hannah Ferrier admits that yachting isn’t as fun as it looks. The reality star revealed what it’s like to have a camera crew follow your every move. This comes after Hannah announced her pregnancy and exit from the show. The mom-to-be explained everything to In Touch Weekly.
Hannah revealed the filming secrets that happen behind the scenes. She says it’s “difficult” to have a camera crew on board in addition to a full staff and charter guests. It’s just as impossible on one of the largest yachts in Below Deck history. Hannah also revealed that yachting is “strict” and isn’t as carefree as it looks.

In an exclusive interview with In Touch Weekly, Hannah Ferrier revealed what it’s really like to have a camera crew follow her around. It’s not as easy to film on a yacht as it is inside of a mansion. It’s not as glamorous as it may look on television.
“It definitely makes it more difficult in terms of space,” the Below Deck Mediterranean star admitted. “If you think about other Bravo shows, they film in a massive mansion or big restaurants or the beach. And we’re in these tiny confined spaces. And they have very big equipment. So it makes it difficult like that.”
There are also strict rules onboard. In fact, the yachting lifestyle is more much strict compared to the other Bravo shows, whose staff interact with the camera crew.

“On Below Deck, they’re very, very, very strict with the fourth wall,” Hannah explained. “So even for myself, I’ve filmed five seasons of it, the camera crew, audio and everything like that, they won’t interact. They won’t say hello to me. They won’t.”
While the chief stew admits she “hated the fourth wall,” she eventually learned how to “respect it.” Hannah understands that it’s the camera crew’s job to tell a “genuine story” of what can happen when you put a crew in the same yacht. Even the charter guests can’t interact with the camera crew.
“I think it’s maybe a little more relaxed, but I believe that,” Hannah continued. “I can’t talk to them and ask them, they won’t tell me.”
Despite the rules, Hannah felt it was important to treat them like everyone else. She treats them as if they’re charter guests and they have everything they need.

But that’s not all. The Below Deck Mediterranean star also dished on her onscreen fight with Captain Sandy Yawn. Hannah Ferrier said that their feud has taken place off-screen.
“One day she kind of loves me, the next day she hates me,” Hannah said.
While their feud didn’t make the cut, the latest season of Below Deck will give fans an idea. However, Hannah revealed that her time on the show has come to an end. She wants to settle down with her long-time boyfriend, who she currently lives with in Australia.

“A career in yachting, for my position, is never something I wanted to do since I started in this industry at 22 years old,” Hannah said.
She moved in with her boyfriend, Josh, and is looking forward to the birth of their first baby. She can’t wait to settle down and have a family.
