Ryan Paevey Shares Big News Coming: Back To 'GH'?

Ryan Paevey announced his departure from General Hospital back in 2018, sharing another update in 2024. However, the actor recently announced a new project is in the works. Fans are already sharing their excitement about the star’s news, especially after he recently appeared at a fan event.

Ryan Paevey Previously Played Nathan West On General Hospital, Joining The Soap In 2013

Paevey first joined the cast of General Hospital in 2013 as Nathan West. This was Paevey’s first regular role on a series.

Over the years, Paevey would become well-known for appearing in a number of Hallmark Channel projects, including Christmas at the Plaza and Coyote Creek Christmas. Back in 2018, however, Paevey surprised soap fans when he announced his decision to leave the soap.

The actor took things further in 2024 when he announced his decision to leave the acting profession. In a statement with Heavy, he’s shared, “As I’ve stated before, I am taking a step back from acting. Something I’ve felt I’ve needed to do for a while now, and a decision proven to be absolutely necessary in the past few weeks.”

At the time, the actor shared that his mother had also been diagnosed with lung cancer. While sharing thanks to both General Hospital and the Hallmark Channel, he acknowledged it was important to be there for her. Since then, he has also launched Fortunate Wanderer, a website dedicated to selling custom jewelry.

Recently, Paevey attended a fan event in Georgia, appearing with Chad Michael Murray. After returning home, he shared a video with fans on Instagram.

At the time, after thanking fans, Paevey teased, “I’ve got some news to share with you guys soon. I’ve got some irons in the fire. I’ve got all kinds of fun stuff coming up. So, stick around, and yeah. I hope to see you guys at another. And I’ll share some news with you as soon as I can.”

While Paevey didn’t go into specifics over what was going on, some fans suspect that he could be returning to some of his old haunts. This could mean a return to General Hospital or a new Hallmark Channel project.

As General Hospital fans know, Nathan is dead and buried on the soap, having died in recovery after being shot. However, characters can come back from all sorts of things when it comes to soaps.

Added to that, a return could be timely for Nathan. After all, his sister Britt also recently returned from the dead. On the other hand, fans will have to tune into General Hospital to see what happens next.

Meanwhile, many fans commenting on Paevey’s recent post suspect that he might be returning to Hallmark. Others are just happy to see him involved in a new project, whatever it may be. A few fans even shared that they got to meet Paevey at the event. Some comments included:
