‘CBS Mornings’ Gayle King Says ‘I Don’t Want To Do This’
CBS Mornings journalist Gayle King is about to explore the final frontier alongside many other brave women. Ahead of the big day, she’s expressing some hesitation and doubt.
See what the rest of the CBS Mornings crew had to share with Gayle just days before she blasts off into outer space.
The CBS Mornings Crew Teases Gayle King About Her Upcoming Space Flight
As TV Shows Ace previously noted, Gayle King has expressed anxiety around her upcoming space flight. Her colleagues decided to poke a little fun at the situation and prepare her for the big day.
“Very special clock on the table, because we are T-minus one week from your big day, when you’re going to space, Gayle,” Tony Dokoupil informed his CBS Mornings co-anchor. “Just reminding you, you are going to space.”
“That’s not in the script here,” Gayle replied, shuffling through some papers and looking visibly uncomfortable.
“We know you’ve had some big feelings about this,” Tony continued, prompting Gayle to sigh and proclaim that she doesn’t “want to do this.”
“You don’t even know what’s going on,” Nate Burleson promptly replied.
“I know, but whatever it is, I don’t want to do it,” Gayle huffed.

Tony Dokoupil tried to tell her about the surprise they had for her, but Gayle wasn’t interested. She reminded her co-host that she feels incredibly nervous about the space trip and proceeded to plug her ears and pretend she couldn’t hear him.
Gayle King Receives Plenty Of Well-Wishes From Major Names
Thankfully, the CBS Mornings crew had a very positive surprise in store for her. The film crew put on a tape made up of several celebrities who wanted to wish Gayle King the absolute best as she prepares for her space journey.
Drew Barrymore and her talk show audience kicked off the video, followed by CBS Mornings anchors and Entertainment Tonight hosts.
“You get to do this thing and come back and tell a story that only you can tell,” Tony Dokoupil shared in his own part of the tape.
“It’s gonna be awesome, it’s amazing! It’s beyond anything you could ever expect,” Good Morning America‘s Michael Strahan chimed in.
Scientists Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson also wished Gayle well in the video, as well as actor Tom Hanks.

“That was really nice,” Gayle conceded after the video finished playing, proceeding to thank her colleagues.
“To be honest, I’m still really overwhelmed by it. Really excited about it, but very frightened too, but I am really excited about it,” she continued as her co-anchors attempted to pump her up.
