Ty Pennington Opens Up About ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ Without Him

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has returned with a revival series. However, it seems to be missing a familiar face: host Ty Pennington. Recently, however, Pennington himself has come out and discussed the change.
The Original Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Finished Its Run In 2012
Ty Pennington has worn many hats over the years. He’s been a carpenter, model, and even an actor. However, he first rose to fame with the TLC reality series Trading Spaces.
However, for many Pennington is best known as the host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. He has notably won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on the series.

Following the show’s original end in 2012, Pennington had been involved with a variety of projects. Notably, in 2018, he returned as a carpenter for a revival of Trading Spaces. He also notably served as the host of the renovation competition series, Rock The Block, for HGTV.
However, it came as a surprise to many when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was announced without Pennington. This time, Joanna Teplin and Clea Shearer would take over and share hosting duties.
Pennington recently took to Instagram to address the ongoing question on why he isn’t a part of the revival. Poking fun at the situation, he lip-synched to a famous line from Ross on Friends.
Ty Pennington’s Fans Also Shared Their Feelings On The Matter
As the line goes, “I’m fine! Totally fine. I don’t know why it’s coming out all loud and squeaky, ’cause really, (in a deeper tone) I’m fine.” Fittingly enough, the line comes from the episode, “The One Where Ross Is Fine,” and involves Ross’ reaction to Joey and Rachel’s relationship.
Pennington notably wrote, “No, really, I’m FINE!,” in the caption, with a few emojis. Some of his hashtags, however, assured it was all meant in good fun. This included “#jk,” “#itsallgood,” “#nohardfeelings,” and “#thatsshowbizbaby.”
