Bachelor Nation Producers Resign After ‘Bachelorette’ Pause
Another major shakeup rocked Bachelor Nation. According to reports, two of the show’s co-executive producers resigned unexpectedly. Keep reading for all the details.
ABC Pauses Bachelorette
Bachelor Nation fans were extremely disappointed last month when ABC made a shocking decision about the franchise. They revealed that The Bachelorette won’t return this year. The spinoff has been put on pause for at least a year, maybe longer.
The spinoff has been a staple in the Bachelor Nation franchise since Trista Rehn found love with Ryan Sutter on the first season in 2003. But the show faced a lot of backlash after the most recent season. Jenn Tran was the Season 21 Bachelorette. She got engaged to Devin Strader during the final rose ceremony but they split up less than a month later.

In fact, their relationship didn’t even last until the After The Final Rose episode. Jenn confronted her ex during the live special. In response, Devin leaked their text exchanges. Then more details about his past came out, including a previous arrest. Fans blasted the show for failing to check his background good enough.
The Bachelorette Season 29 drama was the latest controversy for the franchise. It seems every season there’s at least one contestant with a hidden past. ABC didn’t say the pause had to do with the issues surrounding Jenn Tran’s season, but fans think it played a part.
Bachelor Nation Producers Resign Unexpectedly
After the Bachelorette was paused, many crew members who film the show were let go. Shortly afterward, allegations came out against Bachelor Nation showrunners and executive producers Claire Freeland and Bennett Graebner of a “toxic” workplace.
The troubles for the franchise keep getting worse. According to Deadline, two of the co-producers of the franchise unexpectedly resigned after the Bachelorette pause.
The outlet reports that Michael Margolis and Keely Booth have left the franchise. They just joined The Bachelor as co-executive producers last year. Keely Booth is the husband of showrunner Claire Freeland. He previously worked on Bachelor In Paradise Canada.
It’s unclear what exactly led to their resignation, but Deadline reveals that the producers weren’t asked by the network to resign. Instead, it was their own decision.
What Does This Mean For The Franchise?
ABC is still planning a return of Bachelor In Paradise this year. The show was put on pause in 2024 amid low ratings. But with Grant Ellis’ season of The Bachelor under-performing, is the franchise on the decline?

Many Bachelor Nation fans are fed up with the never-ending drama, both on and off-screen. Grant Ellis just had Hometown dates, but viewers feel like they don’t even know him or his final contestants. Fans complained on social media that this season feels rushed and incomplete. Grant reportedly struggled with choosing between his final two women.
Putting Bachelorette on pause and now the resignation of producers doesn’t bode well for the struggling franchise. Do you think The Bachelorette will return next year or is the franchise on the verge of cancellation? Sound off in the comments.
