Jeopardy! contestant, Drew Goins was determined to redeem himself in honor of Taylor Swift. More so, Drew had to do it for Taylor’s fans and all the Swifties in the world. So, why was it so vital that he sought redemption? Keep reading for further details.
Jeopardy! Player Determined To Redeem Himself
It is not usually a big deal when a contestant gets an answer wrong on a game show. This is expected because that is what makes the shows fun. It ups the competition and makes it even more challenging. Yet, things can get messy if the player gets the answer wrong in a high-profile category. Such was the case with Drew Goins the first time he appeared on Jeopardy! He was on the show back in September 2024 and, according to People, he had Swifties up in arms. His clue was:
“The first of Taylor Swift’s record 4 [album of the year] Grammys was for this album in 2010.”
Drew did not get it right and that made waves because Swifties are hardcore. Luckily, he was able to come back for the Second Chance Tournament on Monday, January 6th. During his appearance, Drew shared he was nervous about how Taylor’s fans would react toward him and his snafu. However, his biggest enemy would be his brother who was the biggest Swiftie of them all:
“I got a Taylor Swift question wrong, went home worried that the Swifties would come rip me out of my bed one night, but it turns out the angry Swiftie was my brother, who’s here today.”

Luckily, Drew’s brother, Zach made sure he was prepared for any Taylor question that could pop up when he returned to Jeopardy! All of the prep paid off as he was asked another question related to the superstar and this time, he got it correct. Ken Jennings was thrilled and noted Drew redeemed himself, ultimately winning the game and his brother’s respect. Zach wrote on social media how proud he was of Drew after his achievement.
