‘Bachelor In Paradise’ News: Why Chris Harrison Thinks It Will Still Happen This Summer
The future of many favorite television shows is on the line due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Bachelorette has been put on hold, Summer Games cancelled and now fans are wondering about Bachelor in Paradise. Host Chris Harrison is choosing to remain optimistic the summer season can still happen.
What Chris Harrison thinks about BIP happening
Refinery 29 spoke with Chris recently about his thoughts on whether or not Bachelor in Paradise will happen. Since filming for this spin-off doesn’t usually occur until June, there is still hope. Chris said, “I like to be optimistic and so I’m going to stay with that until I hear otherwise.”
Chris is not only thinking about disappointed fans who want to see the drama on the beach. He is thinking about the production employees that are out of work until filming begins.
He said, “I’m champing at the bit and it’s not sexy, but I want to put everyone back to work. We have a huge family of people that you guys don’t get to see. I am grateful I get to be the voice and the face of this, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people behind the scenes. They want to get back to work and we are going to put them all back to work as soon as we can get back.”

There is also a lot of behind the scenes work that has to be done
Chris says having the show return is not as simple as just being out of quarantine. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into the show. For example, there is casting, securing the location and weeks of prep work.
He said, “It’s not just, ‘Okay, we’re out of quarantine. Great. The Bachelor is on.’ That’s not how it works. We have to set up production, then we have to go shoot the show. There’s a lot of things that go into making the show and then getting it on TV.”
Chris goes on to say, “Will it be our regular schedule? Will the calendar shift? I don’t know. We’ll have to just wait and see how long this thing lasts.”
In the meantime, fans can get ready to be entertained by the latest Bachelor spin-off. Luckily filming wrapped up prior to the lockdown. The series premiere of The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart will premiere April 13 on ABC.
