‘My 600-Lb Life’ David Nelson Unrecognizable With Recent Massive Weight Loss
My 600-Lb Life star David Nelson is one of Dr. Now’s heaviest patients on Season 10. He met the bariatric surgeon at 763 pounds. He was dealing with multiple health complications and couldn’t do any physical activities due to his weight. His weight gain happened due to his difficult upbringing. My 600-Lb Life: David Nelson’s Weight Loss Journey
David has one of the most devastating stories from the show. The My 600-Lb Life star suffered from neglect and abuse. He grew up in foster care, where he barely had any food. Due to this, he bought and ate everything he could when he became an adult and got a job. However, David ended up ballooning to 763 pounds. He faced mental health issues and even had suicidal thoughts.
Fortunately, his foster mom, Robin, helped him beat depression. David dropped 155 pounds during the show, cutting his weight down to 608 lbs. But his journey didn’t stop there. He continued documenting his physical journey online, and many of his recent photos indicate that he had dropped more than half of his weight.
David Unrecognizable With Recent Massive Weight Loss
In an Instagram post, David Nelson shared a photo of himself with the caption, “Merry Christmas!!!!!I hope everyone has a blessed holiday and share some memories with family and friends.” Many My 600-Lb Life fans quickly noticed how David dropped so much weight. He has yet to share his current scale. But it seems he’s now somewhere around 240 pounds.

My 600-Lb Life: David Nelson Gets Surgery
David Nelson also returned in a May 2024 episode of My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? He shared that he had gastric sleeve surgery in January 2023, adding that he underwent the operation at around 600 pounds. He also revealed that he had lost much more when he reconnected with his dad and moved to Utah.
According to David, his dad called him for the first time in 30 years, which ultimately led to his decision to move to California with him. He then said his dad helped him lose 75 pounds, bringing his weight down to around 300 lbs. At this point, David is aiming for 200 pounds, which he may achieve in just a matter of time.
