‘Today’ Hoda Kotb Breaks Down In Tears By A-Lister Actress
Hoda Kotb has had a lot of emotional moments since announcing she was leaving The Today Show. It really starts to hit her when certain guests appear and reminisce about their history with her. Mariska Hargitay was one of the guests who really brought the tears. Now, Jamie Lee Curtis has done the same thing.
Here is what happened when Jamie Lee Curtis was talking to Hoda Kotb this week on The Today Show.
Hoda Kotb Brought To Tears By Jamie Lee Curtis
Jamie Lee Curtis was on The Today Show this week discussing some of her upcoming projects. Jamie Lee has Prime’s Sticky and a Freaky Friday sequel with Lindsay Lohan coming down the line. However, she also wanted to talk about Hoda and their history together.
When Hoda brought out Jamie Lee Curtis, she pumped up the guest. She spoke about her awards success, which includes an Oscar and an Emmy, as well as her activism work. She then said she wasn’t sure where to start when opening the interview. Jamie Lee had an idea, though.
She said, “Here’s how we’re gonna begin. Say it ain’t so, Hoda. I can’t deal with it. I just can’t deal with it. I just cannot believe this is the last time I’ll be here with you.”
Jamie Lee then said they were both wearing the color purple, which means they were both wounded. “Purple is a wound. So I have a wound today with you. I’m a little sad, and yet I love you,” Curtis said. “You are an absolute treasure, and we are all gonna miss you here. I can’t imagine this place without you.”
Jamie Lee Curtis Pens Handwritten Note To Hoda Kotb
This hit Hoda hard, and she started to tear up as Jamie Lee Curtis spoke. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for the note you gave me,” Hoda said, referring to a handwritten note that Jamie Lee had written to her.
It read: “Hoda, the long and winding road. Where you go, my hand in yours. Bravo.” Jamie Lee Curtis said she had postmarked the note to send out in September, which is when Hoda said she was leaving The Today Show.
Jamie Lee talked about her upcoming movies but wanted to say more about Hoda than her projects. She went on to remark, “I want to say thank you. You have truly changed this place, this house, this group of people that love you, and you are going off for all the right reasons.”
She finished by saying the show is “better for you being here.”
