‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Fans Defend Ryan Seacrest Amid Cheap Shots
As much as Wheel Of Fortune detractors have made it commonplace to bash new host Ryan Seacrest, not every game show viewer is on board with the negativity. Recently, some fans of the show defended Seacrest against cheap shots. So, what happened with this situation, and what did viewers say?
Ryan Seacrest Has Been In The Wheel Of Fortune Hot Seat
No one has been under more scrutiny in the game show space than Ryan Seacrest. This is particularly true ever since he was confirmed to be Pat Sajak’s replacement on the show. With Sajak hosting the program for decades, it was no huge surprise that fans of the show were going to be resistant to this passing of the torch.
Ryan Seacrest has done his best to roll with the punches and the critiques. Every new episode that he hosts, Wheel Of Fortune critics find something to criticize or pick at him for. While some of it may seem justified, other jabs go way too far, and this is exactly what happened recently.
Critics Shaming Ryan Seacrest Go Too Far?
For a while, it was the “in” thing to do in terms of giving Ryan Seacrest a hard time since taking over the hosting duties of Wheel Of Fortune. Some hazing was to be expected, particularly when the vast majority of the fanbase would rather have Pat Sajak continue hosting.
However, based on recent comments and shaming tactics thrown at Seacrest, many believe things went too far this time, especially with the unnecessary cheap shots. This time around, critics took shots at Ryan Seacrest for something he absolutely can’t control: his height.
One hater said that Ryan Seacrest could use some “heels” because nearly every contestant on the show is “an inch or two taller.” Ryan is 5′ 8,” which is about average height for most men. However, this recent critic felt the need to go in on Seacrest for something that had nothing to do with his hosting ability.
Wheel Of Fortune: Fans Defend Ryan Seacrest After Low Blow
As much as critics have bashed Ryan Seacrest since he took over this new hosting gig, it’s one thing to drag him for his performance as the host, but, it’s another thing entirely to make fun of him for something like his height. As much as it has been the cool thing to bash Seacrest, many commenters stepped in to defend him against these recent cheap shots.
- One commenter said: “Why short shame?”
- Another commenter said: “People find the weirdest reasons to hate on Ryan….I guess that means he’s doing a good job if this is the complaint you have.”
- A third person added: “He’s personable, nice to contestants, and keeps the show moving at a good pace. If you don’t like him, watch something else.”

Some people have such a “short” sense of worth that they suffer from a compulsive need to insult others, especially those who are far more accomplished. They have no shame because they have no game. Pathetic losers.
Ryan seacrest I believe is doing such a great Job with wheel of fortune I really think he’s doing a fine job and no one could have been better choice to take over for Pat sajak so tbe shamming needs too stop now .
Actually, Ryan has been a better host than l EVER thought he’d be. He brings energy and is determined, it seems, to be himself. That’s good. He also appears to have chemistry with Vanna White, which is important. Ryan, however, never seems to stay in one place for very long.
They couldn’t have found a more proactive host to replace Sajak with Seacrest. The show hasn’t deteriorated one bit and there appears to be a more carefree approach on the set with the contestants.
I think the producers of Wheel of Fortune hit a home run with Ryan Seacrest.
