‘The View’ Makes Big Changes With 2 Stars Disappearing
The View has looked very different this week because two members of the team are missing in action. The series had to cover for their absence, and nothing was said about where they were or when they might return. Here is a look at the changes this week to the popular daytime talk show and what it all means.
A Pair Of Cast Members Of The View Missing This Week
The View was back from Thanksgiving break with new episodes this week. However, fans noticed something bothersome when the show returned. It was missing two of its main stars. Whoopi Goldberg opened the show by saying that Sara Haines was not there.
Whoopi didn’t say why and just moved on. However, Sara wasn’t the only person missing from the daytime talk show. Not only was Haines missing in action, but Alyssa Farah Griffin and Joy Behar were also not on the episode. These three absences forced major changes in the series.
Now, Joy Behar not being there was not a surprise. She often misses Mondays (and Whoopi takes off on Fridays). This is normal. However, Sara and Alyssa missing as well was something that the show had to overcome in creative ways.
Sara and Alyssa didn’t show up the next day either, and Whoopi Goldberg had to reveal the changes.
Who Replaced The Women On The View?
Whoopi Goldberg revealed that they had replacements for Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines on The View this week. Those replacements were former cohost Abby Hunstman and television personality Rachel Lindsay.
Abby Hunstman is a journalist and television personality who is the daughter of former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. She co-hosted The View from September 2018 to January 2020. This means it was a returning familiar face, which wasn’t a big shakeup for fans wanting to hear from people they know.
Rachel Lindsay was on The Bachelorette Season 13. She was the first African American lead in that franchise, appearing first on The Bachelor Season 21 before getting her own season. After that, she worked as a correspondent for Extra from 2020 to 2023.
“If you’re wondering what’s going on, there’s nothing wrong with your television set,” Whoopi said “Joy is not here, Sara is not here, and Alyssa is not here today.” Abby then said producer Brian Teta called her and said he was ‘in a pinch” and asked her fill in at the last minute. That means this was not a planned absense.
“I think I was in my sweatpants, cleaning up mac and cheese off the floor. Brian was like, ‘We’re in a pinch.’ I’m like, ‘All right, well, if Whoopi’s there, yes, I’m here,” she said.
Sara and Alyssa were both back on Wednesday.

There is no justifiable reason this ‘show’ is still on tv. ABC needs to take it down and come up with a show more people would watch. Something that makes the average person feel encouraged after watching. The View does not accomplish that!
The View is an excellent show! We need more programs like this on the air! Mentally stimulating, unlike many other shows.
