Lisa Rinna Talks 'Days Of Our Lives' Return As Billie Reed

Lisa Rinna has made a return to acting since appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Thanks to this, fans are starting to wonder if she might go back to playing one prominent character from her past: Days of Our Lives‘ Billie Reed. Notably, the actress herself has talked about whether or not she would return to the role.

The Reality Star Has Been Revisiting Her Acting Roots

Rinna’s big break was arguably playing Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives. Initially leaving the role in 1995, she has gone on to reprise the role over the years.

Rinna’s most recent appearance on the main soap was in 2018. However, she also reprised the character in 2021 on the spin-off, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.

However, Rinna would also go on to have a prominent career in reality television. Most notably, she starred on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills between 2014 and 2022. Other reality series on her resume include The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing with the Stars.

However, Rinna would soon make her return to acting. Most notably, she appeared in a promotional Black Friday ad for Walmart. In fact, in a recent interview, she teased about possibly returning to one of her famous roles.

Speaking with Distractify, the actress mused, “Listen, I never say no, really, to anything.” She continued, “I’m always open to revisiting these characters that I love.”

While noting official has been said, Rinna assured she’d be interested in returning. As she continued, “You know I love drama. So, if it were right, if it felt right, if it made sense. I think I’m always open to it.”

Over the years, a few other actresses have taken on the role of Billie. After Rinna left the role in 1995, the part was recast with Krista Allen.

When Rinna returned to the role in the 2000s, Julie Pinson would take on the role in 2004. However, with a return in 2012, and the character’s 2021 appearance, Rinna is still the most recent actress to play the character.

The actress also notably paid homage to her soap opera roots appearing in a parody of the genre for an online Walmart ad. In it, she plays a woman who reunites with her villainous twin sister.

As Rinna noted, “I think if you’ve ever done a soap opera or watched a soap opera, it’s kind of the goal. You’d love to be able to play a twin, right? It’s classic soap opera. And, so, when they told me to play twins, I thought, ‘Oh my god, yes, I can’t wait.'”
