Sherri Shepherd Shares Heartbreaking Furbaby Update

For years, Sherri Shepherd has kept people entertained whether it is in movies, on television, or on talk shows. She has a vast career which includes parts in Beauty Shop, 30 Rock, and as a contestant on DWTS. Yet, it was her time on The View, which garnered her a Daytime Emmy which helped cement her as a household name. Sherri engages in hot topics while having fabulous and fun guests. Unfortunately, part of being a transparent talk show host means bringing your real life to the forefront. That was what Sherri did on the Thursday, November 21st episode of her talk show. There, she addressed how her beloved pup, Lexi, will soon cross the Rainbow Bridge. According to People, Sherri spilled her heart in a segment where she detailed what was going on with her Italian Mastiff:

“If you know me or you have followed me, you’ve all heard me talk about my beloved Cane Corso. She’s an Italian Mastiff, Lexi. And I just found out that she’s very, very sick, and the vet told us that it’s time for Lexi to go to heaven this week, so Jeffrey [her 19-year-old son] and I are coping.”

Sherri Shepherd went on to explain that her son, Jeffrey is on the spectrum. Therefore, it is hard for him to outwardly show his emotions. Yet, upon learning about Lexi, he told his mother he was “crying on the inside.” Lexi has been a part of the family for twelve years since Jeffrey was five:

“I know that I gave Lexi a good life, but I’m so thankful for the 12 years of being protected that she’s been in my life, and I’m so comforted, but I’m happy because she truly exemplified the fact that dog spelled backward is God.”
