USPS Shares Plans To Honor Betty White
Actress Betty White had a career spanning decades, with fans falling in love with her on series like The Golden Girls and even a few eponymous series. The The United States Postal Service recently unveiled plans to pay tribute to the late actress. Notably, they’ve reserved a special, “timeless” honor for White.
Betty White Has Decades Worth Of Fans
White passed away on December 31, 2021, at the age of 99. Notably, she was just a few weeks ahead of her 100th birthday at the time of her passing.
However, even in the years since her passing, she is still well remembered by fans. The USPS recently announced plans to release a stamp depicting White’s face.
As noted by New York Post, this will be a first-class mail “Forever” stamp. This means, as the name suggests, it will never expire.
The USPS said in a statement that White “shared her wit and warmth with viewers for seven decades — including roles on ‘The Golden Girls’ and ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show.’”
The actress was also noted to have “gained younger generations of fans as she entered her 90s.” Likewise, it was acknowledged that White “was also revered as a compassionate advocate for animals.”
There Are Also Plans To Honor A Late Musician
USPS director of stamp services Lisa Bobb-Semple also said in a statement, “This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts.” She continued, “This year, we are continuing several of our popular series and commemorative anniversaries, while introducing some exciting new stamps.”
Enjoying a career lasting decades, White had her first starring role in the title sitcom Life With Elizabeth. She also produced the series, making her the first woman to produce a sitcom. In the 1970s, she appeared as Sue Ann Nivens in The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

However, for many, her biggest role was Rose on the sitcom, The Golden Girls. Even by the late 2000s, her career had another resurgence of sorts, such as her role in the film, The Proposal.
White’s appearance on the stamp was designed by USPS art director Greg Breeding. It was also based on a 2010 image from Dale Stephanos.

As confirmed by Bobb-Semple’s statement, the stamp is expected for release sometime in 2025. The year will also see the late musician Allen Toussaint be honored with a stamp.
