Betty White’s cause of death has been revealed. Her agent is currently quashing rumors surrounding her death. On Friday, December 31, the iconic legend passed away at her home at the age of 99. Tributes are still pouring out to the comedian, who made an impact on pop culture.

Unfortunately, there were also false claims made about her health. One rumor suggested that White received her booster shot just a few days prior. However, White’s agent and close friend Jeff Witjas confirmed to The Associated Press that the rumor is not true. She did not receive her booster shot around that time.

There have been many false reports and quotes about the actress after the news of her death spread. Her agent has been busy shutting down the many rumors about the Hollywood star. On Monday, January 3, Witjas spoke out about White’s cause of death. He also put any rumors surrounding the booster shot to rest.

“Betty died peacefully in her sleep at her home. People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier but that is not true,” Witjas said. “She died of natural causes. Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived. She never said that regarding the booster. Betty White died of natural causes. She did not have the booster three days before she died.”

Social media users claimed that White got the booster shot before her death. A fake quote in which White supposedly said, “Eat healthy and get all of your vaccines. I just got boosted today,” went viral on social media. However, Witjas claims that White has never said that.

On New Year’s Eve, Witjas last said that White “died peacefully in her sleep at her home” that morning. The beloved actress caused a strong reaction among fans young and old. White reached generations during her long-spanning career. She was best known for her roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls.

Betty White was ready to celebrate her 100th birthday

Sadly, White was ready to celebrate her milestone birthday. The news of her death came just weeks after she spoke to People magazine. Even Witjas said he assumed that “she would live forever.”

“I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much,” Witjas continued. “I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

She was expected to turn 100 on January 17. In her final interview with People, White admitted that she was ready to celebrate her birthday. In fact, she couldn’t wait for the day to come. White also revealed that she was “so lucky to be in such good health” and “feel so good at this age.”

Witjas previously told People that he would remind White of the love that fans had for her. She had no idea the impact that she made on the world.
