Hallmark Fan Could Be Next New ‘Chief Of Cheer’
Hallmark has become synonymous with Christmas movies over the years, with fans tuning in to watch their favorite holiday stories. In fact, all sorts of different networks and platforms have entered the holiday movie market. Fans are now getting a chance to get paid for enjoying one of their favorite pastimes.
The Lucky Applicant Will Get Cash & A Few Other Perks
CableTV.com is now looking for someone to serve as a “Chief of Cheer.” Those interested can apply until November 29, 2024.
In this role, the lucky applicant would need to watch 25 holiday movies within 25 days. This will be their third annual “Ho Ho Holiday Movie Dream Job” contest, which is done in partnership with DIRECTV.
This “Chief of Cheer” will be able to pick any holiday movie of their choice. They will then be expected to write up a short reflection over their experience watching the movie.
The lucky applicant will also get to award a few titles. They will also be required to select “the best holiday movie of all time” and the streaming service they think is best for holiday movies.
As compensation, the Christmas movie critic will earn $2,500, in addition to a few other benefits. This includes a year of DIRECTV Stream, a Minky Couture blanket, and subscriptions to seven ad-free movie streamers, like Hallmark+, Disney+, and Netflix.
A press release for the contest noted that the winner won’t need to worry about buying the movies. As they assured, “we’ll be supplying our Chief of Cheer with some of the best streaming services on the market.”
Applicants have to be at least 18 years of age and be a U.S. resident to enter. Fans are encouraged to apply online where they are asked to answer the question, “Why do you feel you’re the right person for the Holiday Dream Job?”
The Elves Will Check Their Lists Twice To Pick One Lucky Christmas Movie Fan
Fans were warned not to submit any additional material through email to try to stand out. The website assured that they would “be able to sense your holiday spirit regardless.”

However, fans were still encouraged to promote the contest using the “#ChiefOfCheer24!” hashtag. As the press release teased, after their “elves have reviewed applications and checked their lists twice” a winner will be announced on December 5, 2024.
As noted by Heavy, this is just one of various contests and events coming out for fans of holiday movies. The Hallmark Channel, for example, has its “Very Merry Giveaway” sweepstakes. Through this, daily prizes are awarded well until Christmas Day.
