‘1000-Lb Best Friends’ Dr. Procter Being Sneaky To Push Meghan?
As Season 3 of 1000-Lb Best Friends continues, Meghan Crumpler finds herself in a frustrating predicament. She feels frustrated that she hasn’t lost more weight. Onscreen, she insists she’s plateauing in her weight loss and desperately needs something to help her move forward.
Her buddy Ashely Sutton had a revision surgery after previously receiving bariatric surgery years ago. Meghan assumes that’s the right move for her and asks Dr. Procter for help.
Dr. Procter seems willing, but he wants Meghan to lose an additional 30-40 lbs before he’ll consider it. But was this all a trick on Dr. Procter’s part?
1000-Lb Best Friends Star Meghan Crumpler Wants Another Surgery
Last season, Meghan Crumpler and Dr. Procter butted heads over her lack of progress after bariatric surgery. He expressed annoyance with her for failing to follow his instructions. In turn, she stormed out of his office and continued to treat him incredibly disrespectfully at every follow-up visit.
So is another surgery going to rectify the problem? And is Dr. Procter seriously entertaining the idea?
“Does anyone else think that the goal from Dr P. for Meg is a Trick? Genuinely, if she can lose 30-40 lbs. in 2 months, does anyone else think he will go ‘Ok, do it again.’ Because at that point she will prove her current surgery is still effective and it has 100% been a her issue?” one Reddit user suggested online. “Granted. Based on the season photos being post Van’s surgery and how much smaller both NewTina and Scott are, I don’t think Ashely or Meghan made any more real progress.”
Other Redditors Add Their Own Thoughts & Opinions
Several other 1000-Lb Best Friends viewers thought it would be a clever idea on Dr. Procter’s part. However, they didn’t think it was ultimately successful if that was his true plan.

- “No I don’t think so, but he may ask her to maintain that loss until surgery/surgery will be canceled if you regain type of thing.”
- “I can see him pulling a Dr. Now and telling her that she needs to lose ANOTHER 20-30 pounds before surgery, and if she doesn’t, then it’s postponed. But she won’t lose this first amount so it’s really a moot point.”
- “No. Despite Meghan acting like he had just told her to lose half a person that goal isn’t a crazy one. And I believe he’s too professional to play games or give a fake goal.”
- “I kind of got the impression that he didn’t expect her to reach the goal, and that he did not really want to do the surgery she asked for…”
What do you think about the situation? Is Dr. Procter giving Meghan such a high weight loss goal to show her that she can accomplish it without another surgery? Leave your own thoughts in the comments.
