Charles Ling Talks About Mansion Experience & Men’s’ Tell All
Recently, Golden Bachelorette fan-favorite, Charles Ling recounts his time at the mansion. Additionally, he teases information about what fans can expect from the Men’s Tell All.
Charles Ling Is A True Fan Favorite
Undeniably, The Golden Bachelorette was an event of a lifetime for contestant, Charles Ling. From the start, fans adored his subtle comedic notions and childlike discovery of the world around him. While the influx of stardom was startling for Charles, he is learning to embrace it. During an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, he said, “Well, I wouldn’t use the word ‘famous,’ but I was stopped at the airport — airports, actually. At Seattle and L.A. And I was even stopped at a gym. This man I’d never met before, he came and he said, ‘Hey Charles, we loved your program. You did so well.’ So on and so forth. Then, guess what: ‘Can we take a photo?’ It’s nice.”
Charles Ling Talks About Mansion Experience
When Charles Ling discussed his time at the mansion, he said his favorite room unmistakably wasn’t the bedroom. He said, “Unfortunately, definitely not our bedroom with the bunk beds. Because it’s such a huge mansion, we asked ourselves, ‘How come we have to sleep in bunk beds?'” Laughably, he outed Gary Levington for being the worst snorer and Jack Lencioni as a close second. But Charles provided some remedies for the guy’s loud schnozzes.
But after his comical response, he said, “I would say either the kitchen or the pool. I love the pool. You know, there’s so much around there — you can relax, you can swim, you can chat. But probably part is still the kitchen. I love it. It’s a huge, huge, gorgeous kitchen with so much stuff in the refrigerators. This is kind of the popular place, as you know, people come to drink and eat. Mark [Anderson] and I, and even other people, we cooked a lot.”
He said, “One day, with the help of two or three assistants, I think I made about 10 dishes within a matter of probably two hours.” Likewise, he talked about cooking multiple types of dumplings during his stay and the generosity that any “cooks” offered to other participants who didn’t cook. He said the guys asked each other, “‘Do you need anything? I can cook for you?’”

Who Was Charles Ling Closest To In The Mansion?
During Charles Ling’s stay at The Golden Bachelorette mansion, he said he got close to all the guys. But he had two great friends that stood out among the rest. He said, “I would say they are all my best friends in a sense. The closest two, I would go with Guy [Gansert] and Mark.” Furthermore, he adds, “Guy is a doctor, he was my roommate. We talked more — in particular, on my wife’s situation. And we talked about medicine in general, and practicing in a hospital or research, so on and so forth.”
When it comes to Mark Anderson, Charles Ling had a huge connection, “And then Mark, you know, he’s such a gorgeous person. Unfortunately, he had a similar sad story like mine. His wife passed away with a disease. We cooked a lot. We shared our experiences, our expertise for cooking. So we bonded even closer in a sense through cooking.”
Opening The Floodgates
Furthermore, Charles Ling said it was hard to know at first how much to open up, but all the guys were receptive. He said, “Yet, as we talked, I think on the second day, next to the pool, Mark, myself and probably three other gentlemen, all of a sudden, we started talking about our sad pasts. You know, some got divorced; Mark and I had really, really similar sad stories. So when we started talking, guess what? I mean, men also cried. We just cried, and we cried hard, because it was very, very hard — yet, we opened it up.”
Likewise, that was the moment he knew this experience was going to be a rich one. He says, “I think, after that, you began to feel, it’s OK. We can talk about what happened.” Additionally, he explains, “We supported each other. We comforted each other. So that’s kind of — it’s a big change for me.” After their time at the mansion, Charles said they don’t call each other, but they keep a running “exchange” saying, “some general ideas, messages.” Admittedly, they are an active bunch of guys.
But Charles wouldn’t trade the time he spent talking with Joan Vassos. He knows that is one of the best gifts he got after losing his wife. Likewise, he added that his bonds with the men were something that he would have never imagined would happen. He found all the guys to be very courteous and helpful to each other.
He Teases What Is Ahead For The Men’s Tell All
When it comes to the Men’s Tell All, Charles Ling says there is a great time in store. He says, “It’s, I would say, a happy reunion among the men — a happy reunion with producers and the cast members, and also a happy time with the audience. I mean, we were there for quite long, but you didn’t feel like [it was] that long. We really wanted to continue. It was a pretty lengthy meeting, yet we really, really had a good time, and also, a lot of good questions from Jesse [Palmer, host of The Golden Bachelorette].”
The Golden Bachelorette airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
