Joy-Anna Duggar And Austin Forsyth Applaud Michelle Duggar
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had high praise for their mom Michelle Duggar. Michelle has faced criticism from her other children over her parenting and beliefs. However, her Daughter Joy-Anna and her husband Austin have had some positive things to say about Michelle. The Counting On star and her husband have a close relationship with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
Joy-Anna And Austin Open Up About Parental Relationship
Duggar and Forsyth have clarified that they will not go against Joy’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle. The couple took to the Unplanned Podcast to share the details about their relationship with their parents. Other Duggar couples have been on the podcast, including Jinger Duggar and her husband Jeremy Vuolo, and Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard.
Joy-Anna opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression after her son Gunner’s birth. Her sister’s book releases and appearance on the Shiny Happy People documentary also complicated her feelings during that period of her life. Joy expressed that this was a difficult time for her.
When asked about her relationship with her mother Joy-Anna had high praise for Michelle. Her husband Austin echoed her sentiment. They discussed how active Michelle is in the kid’s lives. The children affectionately call her “Lolli”. Lolli babysits her grandchildren five days a week. Joy listed off a plethora of tasks Michelle completes for the kids regularly. Austin Forsyth described his mother-in-law as “selfless,” Joy said she was “almost too selfless.” The couple spoke very positively about their relationship with Michelle Duggar while on the Unplanned Podcast.
The Duggar Kids Sing Their Parent’s Praises
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have faced harsh criticism about how they parented their 19 children in the public eye. The Duggars were featured in a show on TLC called 19 Kids And Counting. The show focused on how the couple was bringing up their hoard of gangly kids in an ultra-orthodox Christian faith.
Most of the children have made sure to speak highly and kindly about their parents Jim Bob and Michelle. Jill Duggar has been the exception to this. Joy has been cautious when she publically addresses the topic of her upbringing. She has taken the same approach as sister Jinger Duggar and blames the church teachings, not her parents. Joy said that Jinger’s book rocked her world, and has her questioning her faith.
Joy-Anna’s sister Jill is the complete opposite and has revealed her conflict with her dad Jim Bob. Jill revealed her relationship with her mom Michelle was better grounds. Jill said that despite their conflict Michelle still consistently shows up for her daughter. The adult children have expressed that they are careful to avoid conflict with their parents so that they don’t lose access to their younger siblings.
What do you think about the relationship between the Duggar children and their parents? Is it manipulative to hold the relationship with the younger siblings over the older siblings’ heads to ensure proper behavior? Let us know in the comments!
