Michael Kelcourse took amazing care of Patricia Altschul on Southern Charm. He drove her to her favorite fast-food restaurants and transformed them into luxury dining experiences. More so, Michael was the only one who knew how to make the perfect martini. He loved her pets and got a kick out of all of her son, Whitney Sudler-Smith’s rowdy friends. Michael was a treasure so when he suffered a stroke and was not going to be returning to the show, it was heartbreaking. Patricia Altschul tried to find someone who could replace Michael but that was impossible. In Season 9, she and Whitney FaceTimed him to learn how to make a martini. Fans loved getting to see him again as he is a breath of fresh air. In the middle of September 2024, it was shared that he was in the final chapter of his life. Then, in October, Miss Pat broke the news he had another stroke. It was almost his birthday so she encouraged fans to send him cards. She wanted him to have something to brighten his day since he could not see social media. Now, his CaringBridge page has broken the tragic news he passed.

A series of photos are displayed and then, his date of birth, 10-13-53 is followed by 10-22-24. Michael Kelcourse passed on Tuesday, October 22nd from complications related to a spinal cord injury and stroke. Luzanne Otte shared that he was always a cheerful and happy gent until June 2024. That was when hospice care came in. Whenever he felt down, he would simply say, “Send Caviar,” a message he sent to Miss Pat, as well. During his final week, loved ones engulfed him, reading all of the lovely birthday cards he was sent.

A Sad Goodbye

As soon as Southern Charm fans saw that Michael Kelcourse had passed, they immediately had to comment. There is so much love and sadness intertwined that it is hard to make sense out of the nonsensical:

  • Godspeed Michael. Fly high sweet angel. You are missed. 🙏❤️🙏
  • Absolutely breaks my heart. Such a sweet, sweet soul. Heaven has truly welcomed an angel.
  • RIP Michael. You brought so much joy to many! You will be missed.
  • My sympathy for all of Michael’s family and friends. He was one of my favorites on Southern Charm.

Hopefully, when Season 10 of Southern Charm begins, they will take the time to acknowledge what a force he was. More so, how much love and light he brought to everyone who knew him.

Are you shocked that he is gone? Finally, what is your favorite Michael memory? Let us know in the comments and rest in paradise.
