Hallmark+ ‘The Groomsmen’ Stars Plan On Creating A Franchise – Tyler Hynes, Jonathan Bennett, B.J. Britt’s Plans
The first of the Hallmark+ Groomsmen trilogy The Groomsmen: First Look is already a smash hit. This movie stars B.J. Britt, Heather Hemmens, Jonathan Bennett, and Tyler Hynes. There are two more movies coming up in October, but there are already plans on making more of the bromance.
What do the Hallmark Hunks have to say about more movies in this series?
The Groomsmen Stars Look Beyond Trilogy
On Thursday, Hallmark+ dropped the first movie in the highly anticipated trilogy. This movie is called The Groomsmen: First Look. Already, it is the number one movie on the streaming channel. Therefore, it should not be any surprise that the trio who stars in this bromance, B.J. Britt, Jonathan Bennett, and Tyler Hynes, are already planning for a franchise.
Recently, B.J., Jonathan, and Tyler spoke to ET’s Deidre Behar for the Facebook Live event. Besides talking about the experiencing of working with the incredible director Ron Oliver, and going to Bulgaria, Greece, and Italy, they spoke about the future of series. They see the potential of a franchise.
Jonathan Bennett, who co-executive produces the series with Tyler Hynes, sees the potential for more. Firstly, he started out by explaining why fans will love it. “It’s the story of Pete, Danny, and Jackson. Three characters that the audience falls in love with and wants to hear more about and wants to see more about.” Next, in a pitch-like statement, he shared the next step. “Because our goal was that then the third movie was over, you wouldn’t say, ‘Oh, that’s a great ending.’ You would say, ‘What are the boys up to next?'”
The Christmas House star added, “We want to tell these different chapters in people’s lives.” This is not unlike The Wedding Veil movies. There are now two trilogies out, with fans wanting more.
Hallmark+ Platform Could Be Perfect For Groomsmen Franchise
Although the Hallmark+ rebranding just premiered last month, it seems that a Groomsmen franchise would be a perfect fit for the streaming service. Already, the streaming service has given subscribers a hint of what they should expect. In September, they premiered The Chicken Sisters Season 1, Love On The Danube trilogy, and three movies in The Jane Mysteries, as well as Celebrations with Lacey Chabert.
Coming up in November and December includes a couple of holiday movie series including Cherry Lane, as well as the mystery series Mistletoe Murders, and Holidazed, a holiday series, as well as Jonathan’s Finding Mr. Christmas.
Therefore, the streamer seems to need a lot of new content. The continuation of a successful movie franchise like The Groomsmen seems possible. However, Hallmark has not yet made any sort of announcement. Could this be more of a when not if scenario? It certainly seems like it.
Don’t miss The Groomsmen: Second Chances, which drops on Thursday, October 24. Lastly, The Groomsmen: Last Dance drops on Thursday, October 31.
