Tia Mowry recently revealed that she recycled her wedding ring after her divorce. Though it was a difficult decision, she thought it was best for her and found the jewelry’s new purpose.

Tia Mowry Enters New Phase Of Life Post-Divorce

Tia Mowry is an actress and reality TV personality. After entering the acting game with her twin sister Tamera when she was a child, she has had a lengthy and dedicated career. The two started out playing twins at about 12 years old in the 90s sitcom, Sister, Sister, and later had their reality show, Tia & Tamera.

Tia entered a new phase of acting as she was on other television shows such as Instant Mom and Family Reunion. In addition, she starred in multiple lifetime Christmas movies such as A Very Vintage Christmas and Yes Chef! Christmas.

Additionally, the actress has two kids, Cree and Cairo. She shares them with her ex-husband, fellow actor Cary Hardrict. The two were together since 2008, but divorced in 2023 due to “irreconcilable differences.” Tia is known for trying to be honest and open with both her fans and her children.

Furthermore, with her new WEtv reality show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, Mowry attempts to do just that. Some things she has discussed so far are being vulnerable in front of her kids, dating, and finding a new purpose for her wedding ring from Hardrict.

Mowry ‘Transforms’ Her Wedding Ring

On Friday, October 11th, a new episode of her reality TV series revealed what Tia Mowry has decided for the fate of her wedding ring. Moreover, the TV personality revealed, “I haven’t worn my wedding band for two years now and it just doesn’t feel right to sell it. But what I am wanting to do is change my wedding band into something for my kids.”

Mowry has made it clear that she doesn’t just want to throw out, sell, or destroy the wedding ring. It holds memories and she knows whose hands it will be most useful in. She continued with tears, “Pass it down because they have been my biggest gift. I do want to do it because I haven’t worn it. It has just been sitting there. It was very pretty. If it is made into something else then it is put to use.”

Despite the marriage ending and Mowry being the one who filed, it is still an emotional experience. Furthermore, she expressed, “This is a symbol of a marriage and it is no longer. I would rather the kids have something.” Thus, a new beginning was in store for her and her family when she went to a jewelry store.

In addition, Mowry has thought about this in every capacity as she explained, “It is hard for me to not think about Cory when I am deciding to repurpose my wedding band. But I am learning that at the end of the day, I need to make this decision for me. I think because it is going to the kids, it is going to be OK.”

As she has two kids and the ring would not fit on either of their hands, she is recycling the ring. She has decided to give Cree a chain and Cairo a bracelet. Hopefully, this makes them feel connected to their parents.

Moreover, Mowry disclosed, “I just think it is so beautiful to transform something that was given out of love and to give it to your children. It makes me feel like my marriage wasn’t a waste. I did the right thing.”
