Did Hoda Kotb Leave ‘Today’ Because Of Co-Hosts Attitudes?
When Hoda Kotb said she was leaving Today, she revealed that it was because she wanted to be with her children more. She has two younger kids, and as a mother later in life, she wants to make this time count. However, there are some new rumors that Kotb’s co-hosts might have played into her departure.

Is Hoda Kotb’s Today Decision Based On Co-Hosts?
Hoda Kotb has said all the right things about her Today departure. She said she wants to spend more time with her kids. More so, Hoda is 60 and wants to try something new with her life. She has been on Today for 17 years; it was the right time for a change.
However, there are also people behind the scenes who say there is more to her departure than that. Several ideas about why she is leaving have been floated, but a new rumor surrounds her relationship with Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager. One source said they have become “too much” for Hoda (via Closer).
The source added there are plenty of opportunities at NBC for Kotb, “And the best part of all is that she won’t be getting up at the crack of dawn, tiptoeing around Savannah, Jenna or other testy characters that were too much for her to stand towards the end.”
The source said that Hoda has done things on her own terms for years, and is ready to move on, even “with the torture of working a few months’ notice.”
“She’s got plenty of opportunities lined up,” the insider continued. “The NBC bosses are desperate to keep her in the fold and ease her into a more serious anchor role for prime-time specials.”
Was NBC Asking For Hoda Kotb To Take A Pay Cut?
If the early mornings and her frustration with her co-hosts were a reason for her departure, other rumors start to make sense. Another source said that NBC wanted Hoda Kotb to take a pay cut since ratings were down. The source said Hoda was unwilling to take the pay cut and chose to leave.
If NBC wanted Hoda to take a pay cut, why would she keep wanting to wake up before the sun and then work with people who seemed to be a lot to handle? Hoda might make even more money if she has primetime opportunities for NBC if the rumors are true.
