‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Competitor Makes Shocking Claim Against Gordon Ramsay

Hells Kitchen: Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay gained worldwide fame as the no-nonsense head honcho in Hell’s Kitchen. Recently, former competitors on the cooking reality show came forth with some shocking claims against the celeb chef and restauranteur. So, what did they have to say?

Gordon Ramsay Gained Worldwide Fame With Hell’s Kitchen

When Hell’s Kitchen first premiered in 2005, it introduced Gordon Ramsay as a no-nonsense head chef looking to see who had what it took to run one of his restaurants. What made this different from a lot of other cooking reality shows was Ramsay’s persona as an intimidating chef who ran his kitchen with an iron fist.

Anyone who watched Hell’s Kitchen since the early days will remember that the insults and food flew back at these competitors with no mercy. Gordon Ramsay is an unforgiving captain, and most people who sign up for the show can’t take the heat.

Former Contestants Make Shocking Claims Against Celeb Chef

Gordon Ramsay has built an impressive culinary empire since the first season of Hell’s Kitchen premiered almost two decades ago. He is one of the few people out there who succeeded in achieving celebrity chef status, and a lot of that had to do with the way he abused past competitors on the show for entertainment value.

Recently, former Hell’s Kitchen competitors came forth with some shocking claims against the chef and restauranteur from their time filming the cooking reality show, and a lot of what they had to say wasn’t pretty.

  • One contestant, Elsie Ramos, said of Ramsay: “Everybody was scared. Let’s just put it that way.” She also called him a “fiery bully.”
  • Tek Moore said Ramsay’s behavior is in line with chefs in general, adding: “Chefs know how to verbally disembowel people.”
  • The winner of Hell’s Kitchen Season 1, Michael Wray, said of the hotshot chef: “Gordon, he told me, ‘You never tell your employees that they’re doing a good job. The instant you tell them that is when they stop trying.'”

Hell’s Kitchen Season 23 On The Air With Gordon Ramsay

Despite Gordon Ramsay expanding his culinary empire over the last two decades, he is still doing the show that first introduced him to a global audience. Hell’s Kitchen is currently in the middle of its 23rd season, a major achievement by any mark.

While Ramsay’s bullying tactics may be unpleasant for anyone competing on the show, they have proven to be a ratings juggernaut, with people continuing to tune in with each new season that comes out. So, even though the chef has hurt a lot of feelings over the years, it’s clearly a winning formula that continues to pay dividends.
