Tom Selleck Breaks Silence On Filming Final ‘Blue Bloods’ Scene
Tom Selleck has been at the helm of Blue Bloods since the show first premiered, stepping into the role of Frank Reagan. Recently, the veteran actor opened up about filming his final scene. So, what did he have to say?
Blue Bloods Has Been A Fan Favorite For Years
Blue Bloods first premiered in 2010. While cop shows are a dime a dozen, something about this one, which follows the Reagan family through various branches of law enforcement, really struck a chord and resonated with viewers almost immediately.
Whenever a show like Blue Bloods manages to stay on the air for as long as it has, viewers invest their time in the storylines and the characters. Sitting down to dinner to watch the Reagan family became a routine for a lot of people, and the fanbase is sad to see the show come to an end.
Popular Cop Drama Canceled, Viewers Still Upset
With the final Blue Bloods episodes soon airing, many viewers are not ready for the program to end. While the saying is true that all good things must come to an end, most fans were not ready for this show to end just yet, with Season 14 being the curtain call.
Veteran actor Tom Selleck expressed frustration over the fact that the show will ride off into the sunset prematurely. Of course, maintaining a successful show like this, with an ensemble of high-profile actors, comes with its own set of challenges, however, like Selleck, the actors did not want it to end just yet.

Reflecting on filming his final scene, Tom Selleck said: “My last scene was ironically family dinner; that was also the first scene I shot on the show 15 years ago! I’m not going to tell you everything about the last episode…but the family dinner kind of reunites the Reagan family.”
Selleck went on to add: “We were shooting for hours and all of a sudden, they said ‘Well, that was the last shot.’ I always wanted to say this poem, “Love Is Not All” by Edna St. Vincent Millay. There was crying and there was an enormous amount of hugs.”
