‘General Hospital’ Preempted Week Of 9/30, Details
General Hospital will be preempted the week of September 30th. That being said, there will only be three episodes during the week instead of five. So, what is the cause of the preemption, and what days will be affected? Keep reading for more details on the situation.
General Hospital Preempted Week Of 9/30
For the week of September 30th through October 4th, General Hospital will be preempted. Therefore, it will be a three-episode week which no fan likes. It is a rarety that soap operas ever do not air new episodes or do not air the show at all so it has to be something big. This week is big for GH for several reasons. According to Monsters & Critics, Port Charles will be on fire, especially since November sweeps are a little over a month away. Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) coming home to save his sister is huge as is Jagger Cates’ (Adam J. Harrington) murder.
Carly (Laura Wright) has fears when it comes to Jason (Steve Burton) as well as Lucky. Yet, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is the one saying she killed Jagger when that is false. Molly knows her mother did not murder anyone and wants Sonny (Maurice Benard) to finally pay for his mistakes. Now, one big shocker was when Jason and Anna kissed last week on the Thursday, September 26th episode. Sparks no one saw flying but here they are. With Sam (Kelly Monaco) preparing to exit, why not have him find love elsewhere?

That being said, what about this three-day week of General Hospital, and why might that happen? It all has to do with sports. The show will not air on Tuesday, October 1st, or Wednesday, October 2nd because of baseball. That is already distressing for viewers but there’s more bad news. A wild card game may make it just a two-episode week if there is a game on Thursday, October 3rd, as well. So, count on Monday, September 30th for sure along with Friday, October 4th.
Jason & Anna?
Aside from all that is going on with General Hospital, fans did not care for the moment between Jason and Anna. In fact, they were sickened by it. First off, Jason dated Robin for a very long time and Anna is her mother so that’s offputting but together, they just don’t work:
- Jason and Anna!!!! Noooooooo 😮
- Cancel the show or rewrite the whole scene
- Anna & Jason…YUCK!!!!!!!!!
- Anna. Jason. Anna?? Jason??? ANNA &&&&& JASON??!!!!?!!!? Who the heck is writing this crap?????
They are also appalled that Kelly Monaco has been fired and demanding she be rehired by the show. It makes no sense that she is leaving and they want her to stay understandably.

What in the world is writers for GH doing now first they get rid of Sam then they get rid of Michael (Fin) their getting rid of to many actors in wrong way they made Sam into a wishie washy charter she was and always b Sam but new writers ruined her charter and they made her nobody she wasn’t on show much they just didn’t give her gh time they did that to Dante too now he’s back on screen everybody is complaining about Sonny getting more time on gh but that’s not fair the writers did it NOW THEY WANT US TO BELIEVE JASON KISSED ANNA WELL YEAH HE THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO DIE AS FOR THEM BEING COUPLE NO WAY HE DATED ROBIN NO WAY MOM TOO WRITERS PLEASE DONT DO THAT YOU WANT US TO FORGET Robin we can’t

The kiss was a diversion. I’m so angry that baseball is prompting our show for three days or two! Gh should show us those episodes in order. Not delete them! What’s happening? I demand to see GH! They’re always prompting our SHOW GH! 😡😡😡
They’re deleting them???? WTF?? I’ve watched since the 80’s & although recorded daily it’s my favorite time of day when I finally get to kick my feet up. Killing Sam is dumb. So much material between the Sam/Dante/Lulu scenario. Finn leaving isn’t my preferred move esp if they bring him back as yet another brother. And for God’s sake put Jason & Carly together. Give Sonny to Natalia, Sam or anyone but keep his paws off Carly. These 2 already have expired as lovers… just coparentsis enough. Lucky back w Liz has promise. I want Jason to find happiness w Carly k finally work. I like Brennan but find him someone…Diane maybe. I’ve never commented because the writers seldom listen. It’s been years & im still pissed over AMC & OLTL.

The networks get on a roll. it is all about ratings and advertisement dollars. One can call them soap operas,, I call them pure entertainment. I don’t even care for nighttime shows. I wantAa to be entertained and my soaps entertain. There is a reason that a show that started April 1, 1963 is still on the air. I think they are working towards canceling the show, I hope not but some of the characters that made GH work will be out of work. Sam needs to stay there’s a lot she can do for the show. Willow could take a break and figure out what she wants to do about her mess with Drew.
I agree. They are purposefully destroying the show and the only reason in my mind is they want to cancel it. I wish they would just sell it to another network or like Peacock and let us live stream it. They hear our complaints and totally ignore them. They are going to go out with a bang with Sonny going to jail for his crimes. Carly and Jason will end up together and they will parade through some old timers for us old timers who have been with the show forever. It just has the writing on the wall…
I think the writers do not know what to write about anymore!!!! I hate to say it but the show is soooo predictable it isn’t funny!!!! Sam I would hate to see you but do you really want to be around when the ship sinks!!! GH is super boring they flip flop the writers can not come up with anything and WHEN they it just drags & drags!!! Come on writers come up with a contest and ask your viewers to come up with an amazing scene you know a contest! That would be a first.And yes it’s my idea but imagine how exciting.Who knows it might just put you back on top!!!!

.watched every episode since 2010. went on disability and agree that the last year has been great, but the last couple of weeks has been abysmal. I’m not gonna comment on everything, but I will comment on Sam. She should have been thrown off show years ago. and the have ruined sonny on the show. they would NEVER destroy an actor like Victor Newman on Y+R. if there are new writers, they all gotta go!

They’ve done the same to victor!!! He continues to screw his own family over & over! When you don’t see him on the screen their writers come up with the same crap. He uses his son to do his dirty work then Adam again believing his dad won’t desert him WILL. Over and over!!! Victor ALWAYS says FAMILY is important but Victor ALWAYS uses his kids against each other and acts like what I didn’t do that!!! Sooo predictable! I don’t watch it anymore. Especially when they made Chelsea the main actor! And poor Sharon again with her going off the rails. I guess the writers just don’t have it in them anymore!!!

I agree, I like baseball but they usually show these games at night. Football takes over Saturdays, Sunday, Monday night and Thursday night, why take an hour a day of GH!

I started watching GH in the early 70s. Right now is some of the WORST stories I’ve ever seen. The whole Ashford family are nothing but whiners. You’ve gotten rid of some very good and likely best actors and just dropped some favorites (Monica). Please get your act together
Leslie Charleston who plays Monica is not in good health. She now has to get around in a wheelchair and doesnt want her fans to remember her like that.

really don’t like the story line of Anna and Jason. I’m sick of Carly and Sonny. I want Carly and Jason together. Don’t like this Drew and Willow bs. Michael deserves better than this. Molly whines too much. Kristina is doing a great job. I hope Liz and Lucky get back together and never liked Dante and Sam together. And give Alexis a love interest.

the storyline lines that are being written is ridiculous these hook ups are outrageous makes no sense Sonny and Carly is the main characters they always had each other backs no one can carry the mob stories better than them Carly and Jason has no chemistry they needs to stay in the friends zone period the same connect that Jason and Sam has the stories I see now from one day to the next I find myself fast forwarding or skip all together please do better writers producers ect.

I agree with the people who are upset over the pre preemption this week. can’t they be shown later on in the evening I think they’ve done this once before. also the Jason and Anna thing is completely out of bounds out of bounds out of bounds. I’ve read the comments about the new writers so I don’t know if the current disappointment is because of the former writers or the new ones. have we seen any of the new episodes with the new writers???
Agree with most of the comments. Been watching since 1970. I stopped for a while when it went off the rails and now it has completely crashed. The stories are ridiculous with too many lose ends. Laura, Kevin,Valentin and Charlotte are lost in the twilight zone. We still dont know who killed Dr. Gavin Holtz. Cyrus true identity or ehy Martin came back as a totally different guy including entirely different personality and accent. Drew is being a predator and a creep. That storyline is sickening. Killing Sam is the top for me. The writers made her dull and boring and now they are getting rid of her. That will destroy soon many lives including her sisters, mother and causing Scout to be raised by her creepy unstable father. I AM DONE
Sam is the least annoying of the “Davis women”; they should kill off any (or all) of the other three before Sam.
