Kelly Clarkson Celebrates NYC Milestone
When Kelly Clarkson announced she was moving her whole life to New York City, no one knew what to expect. Not only was she bringing herself and her children but she was also bringing her Emmy-winning talk show. Fans were thrilled to be able to experience the show and Kelly on the East Coast and she was over the moon to live in the city. Of course, Kelly received a warm welcome and jumped right in, starting her own SiriusXM station. Repeatedly, her talk show was either sold out or there was a waitlist to get tickets.
She was the hottest show in town and to add to that, Kelly brought an amazing new look with her. The three-time Grammy Award winner started to look slimmer than ever and viewers could not help but wonder what she had been doing. It was a complete transformation but Kelly really settled into her new life and now, as she enters her sixth season, she is celebrating one year as a New Yorker. This means her show will undergo some major alterations as part of this milestone.
According to Hello!, The Kelly Clarkson Show is renovating a bit. This will include a new lounge, making the studio appear more chic. More fun segments are also expected for viewers to add to the Season 6 fun. Kelly also has some amazing names lined up for the new season, which will premiere on September 23rd. Included on this list are Kristen Bell, Jim Carrey, Colin Farrell, Uma Thurman, Keith Urban, and Lily Collins. Hopefully, Kelly will keep singing as Kellyoke has become one of the most beloved segments of the show.
Making The Move
Deciding to leave California for New York was a risky decision for Kelly Clarkson. She explained that she needed a change of scenery for her own peace and asked the producers if this was possible. Fortunately, her wish came true, as she shared at the Emmys:
“Thanks to NBC for believing in our show. The fact that NBC, a huge company, took time and listened when I said ‘Hey, my life is not going super great. I don’t know if I can live here [in L.A.] anymore. I don’t know if I can do this.’ And they really wrapped their arms around us and they helped us move. And the move has been so great for not just me and my family but our whole show. It takes a lot of time and money and effort to do that.”
It is a huge testimonial to what an asset the American Idol winner was and is to NBC as they knew to keep her, they had to let her fly and thrive. She is more than doing that in New York but it is not just Kelly. Her children are also excelling in their new lives, especially her son, Remy:
“My son walked out of his school and was like, ‘This is the right school for me. The other one didn’t fit like this one.'”
So, Kelly and the show more than deserve a celebration to mark one year of taking a leap and succeeding in the best way possible. Are you thrilled for Kelly and do you have plans to see her show? Let us know in the comments below.
