Ryan Seacrest is excited to take over as the Wheel of Fortune host. He has said all the right things. He also has big plans to make changes to help freshen up the show. With his energetic enthusiasm, the new season might look very different than fans are used to.
However, there are rumors that this is a one-season test for Ryan to prove he is the right man for the job. If he fails to bring in the ratings, or if they drop when he takes over, he might be out quickly. There is even someone the producers have their eye on to replace him if he fails.
“Ryan’s trying to sugarcoat this and say it’s good news,” a source said (via Closer Weekly). The source said that Ryan’s thoughts are that Pat’s final season had lower ratings, so the only way to go is up. However, the source also admitted that there are some bosses who think things can drop even more. If that happens, changes will be made.
“He knows he’ll be the scapegoat, so it’s incredibly stressful for him right now,” the source said. But what will happen if Ryan falls?
Could Vanna White Become Wheel of Fortune Host?
The source said that if Ryan Seacrest fails to raise the ratings, Wheel of Fortune bosses are looking at handing the role to Vanna White. The source said that all eyes are on Ryan, and Vanna is in the best possible position.

She can just sit back, spin the wheel and wait for Ryan to fall on his face,” the source said. “Even if that’s not her intention, she can certainly be the one to benefit from this in a big way.” According to the source, the big raise she got to stay will make her the next obvious replacement.
