Antiques Roadshow’s Theo Burrell Gives Sad Cancer Update
There is some sad news to share when it comes to Antiques Roadshow expert Theo Burrell. She has been dealing with a cancer diagnosis and it seemed like she had gotten it behind her. However, she has revealed some heartbreaking news for fans who have followed her courageous journey.

Antiques Roadshow Expert Theo Burrell Back In Treatment
Antiques Roadshow expert Theo Burrell has some sad news about her cancer diagnosis. She just revealed that she has restarted treatment for her brain tumor. She said that the treatment makes her feel “awful” because it leaves her feeling “immunocompromised.” This makes it even harder in the season when colds and other illnesses are rampant.
She explained her condition in an Instagram post where she then explained that she is back in treatment again for cancer. “I was diagnosed with a grade four brain tumour (glioblastoma) in June 2022 after around six months of symptoms,” she wrote. “I was 35 years old.”
Theo went on to say that most doctors missed the brain tumor diagnosis and it wasn’t until she had a CT scan at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary that it was caught. She said she had symptoms that included pressurized headaches, vision problems, as well as feelings of “pins and needles.”
“These were all as a result of a 5cm tumour in my temporal lobe, on the right hand side of my brain,” Theo said. She had surgery six days after this discovery where doctors removed over 90% of the tumor.
When Did Theo Burrell Cancer Return?
After her surgery, she went on to have six weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment. She then had six rounds of chemo treatments and finished that up in March 2023. She thought it was finished, but then in September 2024, it returned.

“In September 2024 my scan showed an area of change, which caused debate amongst my medical team,” Theo said. She then said that they waited and watched her condition for three months and in December, the doctors said the tumor regrowth had started. She now has to restart up to 12 months of chemotherapy, and it all started on December 30.
“I still suffer regular headaches and lots of fatigue, and I have learnt that pacing myself, in all ways, is key to feeling good,” she said. “I go to bed early, I exercise when I can, I listen to lots of music which makes me feel good and I live day to day as much as I am able.”
