It won’t be much longer before the new season of Wheel of Fortune arrives. With the new season, Ryan Seacrest, 49, joins as the new host, replacing Pat Sajak. However, for fans who were hoping to just see a new host and nothing else changing, there might be disappointment. It seems Ryan is making big changes to the game show.

Here are some of the big changes that Ryan Seacrest is making to Wheel of Fortune as he takes over as the host.

Ryan Seacrest Making Big Wheel Of Fortune Changes

Pat Sajak stepped down as the Wheel of Fortune host after over 40 years. While Vanna White stayed on to keep some things the sameAmerican Idol host Ryan Seacrest will take over hosting duties of the popular long-running game show starting in the next season. With Ryan comes rumored changes.

According to some insiders, Ryan walks around the set with a “cockiness” that Pat Sajak didn’t have. They also say that he “swaggers” around and it has created a different feel for the people working on the show.

“Ryan is simply not doing the low-key version of the show that Pat did,” the source said (via The U.S. Sun). “He’s brought every bit of his ‘hype-beast’ morning radio and New Year’s Eve energy to the production of his first episodes.”

The source said it is a huge shift and might be an “obvious grab” for younger viewers than Pat Sajak brought in. “Ryan just makes the whole Wheel experience feel hipper, faster, and less sleepy than the version of the show that Pat did for all those years,” the source claims.

When Will Wheel Of Fortune Return For New Season?

The new season of Wheel of Fortune will launch in mid-September. When introduced as the new host, Ryan Seacrest said all the right things. He complimented Pat and paid respect to his work throughout the show’s run.

However, the source said big changes would be made when the new season premieres, thanks to Ryan. The game and the rules are the same and Ryan will still focus on that. However, he is also reportedly “a master of memorization and doesn’t rely on the teleprompter remotely as much as Pat did.”

He can also improvise with the contestants, bringing a new dynamic to the show. They also pointed out his decades of experience in interviewing people. “The choice of putting him on Wheel was an inspired one and the bosses at Sony TV are beyond excited to see the fan response to the updated show.”

    1. Sony TV honchos missed a golden opportunity to grearly increase viewership by doing a nation wide search for a new host. Introducìng a new ‘applicant’ every week or so until you find one that blows away all the rest.
I am pretty sure Seacrest is going to tank the ratings.

      1. He will be the DEATH of Wheel of Fortune, just like every other show he has touched. Feel so sorry for Vanna to be made to put up with Ryan

    2. Not a fan of Seacrest but willing to give him a chance. if I don’t lije it with him I will stop watching it.

  1. I have NO desire to see Ryan as the new host.
l liked the way the show flows and Ryan already has too much going on & I fear WOF will. be an evil stepchild in his hands.

    1. We also decided to stop watching even before the new season. Don’t tell me how much they are paying him and don’t care to know.

    1. Such a visible host should have a good moral compass, not be vain or a womanizer. I want to be fair, but will not watch long if this is a vehicle for his personal agenda.

  2. I will not be watching the clown show. Seacrest gets on my nerves. Can’t believe Vanna is staying on, she must be hungry. This show will crash just like Jeopardy. Bye bye wheel.

      1. I agree that Jeopardy has far from crashed. Not to speak poorly of Alex but his shtick had gotten old and his interactions with guests could be patronizing at best. Jennings is fresher, kinder,
and funnier but maintains the style and spirit of the show. I hope Seacrest can pull it off in the same way.

      2. I agree 100% !!
why judge before there is anything to judge ???

I liked Ryan on Kelly and Ryan very much.
Why would anyone call him a womanizer ??
I agree it’s hard to accept someone new but , give the guy a chance. just like Jeopardy. the new host won’t be the same, but Ken Jennings turned out to be ok. I think Ryan Secrest will as well.

  3. so many people don’t like secrets and want be watching when the new season starts. Very hopeful that he wants last really going to miss watching the show.

  4. Never could stand Ryan Seacrest! Won’t probably watch the show like I used to! He’s very arrogant! Gets on my nerves!

    1. I feel the same way. He never sticks around for long, he’ll get bored and move on just like he did on “Live”.

  5. I liked the “sleepy” version. When you look up “oversatuation” in the dictionary, there’s a picture of Ryan Seacrest.

  6. I have never been a fan of his. Ryan is not someone I would have chosen. I have been a loyal fan for years. I hope he doesn’t mess up the show. I may watch a few times but if he is too cocky I will not return.

    1. I don’t know why they chose him of all people. I believe that his arrogance will ruin the show. I always looked forward to watch Pat & Vanna at dinnertime. I’ll watch it a couple times. But have a feeling that I won’t like it. We’ll see.

    2. I agree I have always loved Ryan Seacrest, he was awesome on Kelly and Ryan I’m looking forward to seeing the show, I know it will be different but Pat retired, I can’t wait to see the show

  7. I enjoy the show with Pat Sajak, but will certainly give Ryan a chance. It’s very hard for a new host to step in after so many years with Pat. All changes are not bad, so I hope to enjoy the new WOF and also the reruns of the old show.

  8. I can’t give an opinion of the new show since I’ve not seen it; those doing so and downing Ryan are doing it it with prejudice; they’ve never seen one episode to judge.
if he’s younger and done a lotta interviews, id THINK that’d be a good thing, not bad

    1. Agreed, let’s wait and see! I absolutely love Pat but he wanted to retire while he was on top – and he was always so witty! But let’s give Ryan a chance…change can be good!

  9. We have never liked Ryan Seacrest as a host. We systematically avoid any show that he is a part of. Good luck with this change

  10. I’m going to really miss the WOF that we all watched faithfully throughout Sajak’s many years as host. I’ll watch at least a few of the new WOFs before making judgment regarding Ryan Secrest.

  11. I grew up watching WOF with my parents and I LOVED it. It’s a classic show that has NATURALLY developed over the years. Now don’t get me wrong, I will most certainly give Seacrest a chance but I really think they missed the mark by choosing him because he comes off as fake and overly enthusiastic which is a major turn off for people. WOF is an evening show and if you’re trying to appeal to the “younger viewership” then please explain to me how THIS MOVE will help because most young people I know are not sitting at home watching WOF at 6:30/7:30pm. They are out and about and having fun or they are taking night classes.
Personally I know that I don’t want to come home to some overly enthusiastic person at the end of the day, I want to come home and RELAX! But hey, good luck to him.

  12. that Pos ruins everything he touches, I stopped watching American idol because of him and his ego, dick Clarke’s rocking eve stopped watching it when he became the sole host, live with kelly Ripa lost me when he showed up….and while I am a fan of vanna he’s going to take this show and run it into the ground,I say viewership will drop 50% first year because you lost me for one

  13. NOBODY @#$%ING WANTS HIM!!!!!!!! They should have done what Jeopardy! did and have on-air tryouts and let the fans decide. He will definitely not last.

  14. I will try one week. I doubt I will be happy with it. thank you Vanna for trying to hang in there but I think Maggie Sajack would have been a better choice.

  15. Wheel has a standard but similar to other shows like the tonight show which was great back in the Carson days, must evolve or die, with or without Ryan. Look at the life Drew Cary injected into The price is right! Give Wheel a chance.

  16. He can also improvise with the contestants, bringing a new dynamic to the show.
    What the hell!!!
Pat came up with some of the funniest quips and one liners on the show…..new dynamic MY ASS! I just hope he doesn’t RUIN the show!

  17. I’ve never been a fan of Ryan Seacrest. I was frankly quite shocked when he was announced as the new host. I hope the show succeeds, because I really enjoy watching and playing along. But I’m afraid it will never be the same!!

  18. not a fan of Ryan, I think Sony made a bad choice. he will ruin the show,if he stays to finish his contract. He doesn’t stay in one place too long.

  19. Seacrest is a clown looking for a circus. I’m just hopeful that Wheel of Fortune doesn’t turn out to be that circus.

  20. I agree, every show he has done he doesn’t stick around. I personally don’t like the guy. I wish they would have done a search for someone other than him. They were pretty quick to pick him. I think the ratings will tank.
