‘Good Bones’ Fans Blast New Season, Want Show Canceled
When HGTV announced that Good Bones was returning, many fans got excited. However, those who know the behind-the-scenes drama wondered how it could return at all. It turns out that the show’s return was not what many fans wanted. As a result, some fans are calling on HGTV to finally end the show for good.
Here is what happened in the new Good Bones season and why fans are hating on the new format.
Good Bones Fans Hate On New Season
When HGTV announced the return of Good Bones New Beginnings, it was both exciting and confusing for many fans. It was exciting because the reality TV show was really popular when it was airing in its original format. However, it was confusing because Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen Laine are estranged.
This means the new season saw the mother and daughter working on different projects. They were in completely different states. They also never spoke during the new series. That means the dynamic that made the show so popular was gone. As a result, many fans felt it wasn’t the same and they questioned why it was brought back at all.
While many were happy to see Karen again, others want HGTV to cancel the show completely.

Sadly, some commenters also insulted and mocked Mina’s husband Steve, who was by her side for her part of the episodes. While many fans were happy to see Karen back on TV, it didn’t seem to be enough for many fans.
Why Are Mina & Karen Estranged On Good Bones?
When Good Bones started, it followed mother Karen and daughter Mina as they brought their company, Two Chicks and a Hammer, Inc., to HGTV. The mother and daughter renovated homes in Indianapolis and fans fell in love with their banter and back-and-forth relationship.
That couldn’t happen on Good Bones: New Beginnings. Mina and Karen have been estranged for a few years now. The synopsis said the show takes the two women past their time in Indianapolis and shows them “evolving.” Mina purchased an Indiana lake home that she renovated. Karen renovated her “retirement nest egg” in North Carolina.
Last year, Mina revealed she hadn’t spoken to her mother for “a long time.” While Mina said she has her reasons, it seems like fans don’t want to see Good Bones back on TV without the two together again.
