‘General Hospital’ Kelly Monaco Out As Sam McCall

General Hospital Kelly Monaco Out As Sam McCall
Kelly Monaco came to General Hospital in 2003 and caused quite a stir. As it turned out, her character of Samantha McCall was actually the biological daughter of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). It took them some time to finally come to terms with their relationship. They faced a major challenge when Alexis’ daughter needed stem cells. At the time, Sam was pregnant with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) baby. Therefore, they wanted to induce Sam for the cells since Kristina is also Sonny’s daughter, something he did not know. Sam refused but ended up collapsing and her baby was stillborn but it afforded Kristina the stem cells she desperately needed.
However, Sam did grow close to her siblings and her mother, though it has always been a struggle. Especially since Sam has always had a love for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). When it was revealed that Jason was returning in 2024, Sam and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) were a part of the shocking promo. Sadly, Sam and Kelly’s time has come to an end, according to Soap Opera News. It appears that the character will be killed off though it is unclear why.
Per an insider, Kelly Monaco’s time will come to an end in the fall of 2024:
“According to sources, the Sam McCall character is being killed off and will last appear in Port Charles this fall. Sources also say that Monaco was “blindsided” upon learning of the decision.”
Originally, Kelly started out on Port Charles, which was a primetime spinoff of General Hospital. Then, she moved over to the daytime soap. She also won Season 1 of DWTS which was a huge accomplishment. Now, her time is ending and it she has no idea why which will undoubtedly leave fans frustrated and confused.

Upon learning that Kelly Monaco was let go from General Hospital, fans raged on Twitter/X. They were angered by what had happened and let the world know it:

It appears viewers do not want to believe the news and won’t watch the show any longer unless this is reversed. Someone also mentioned no one would remember DWTS if it were not for Kelly.

Kelly Monaco is one of the main reasons I still watch GH. Removing her will remove me completely.
I simply cannot believe and I refuse to believe what I just read about Kelly Monaco/Samantha McCall being killed off of GH. I have been watching this show for over 45 years now. This story wouldn’t make ANY sense going forward without Kelly. She is far too important of a character on GH to be simply killed off!! Why do this? I’m VERY upset to say the least!! Whose decision was this!? I’m certain that it wasn’t Kelly’s!! RIDICULOUS AND WRONG!!
WTH is going on with these new writers? Are they on drugs? Are they trying to make waves and big splash? This splash may drown them out of a job and career on GH!! 😒😣

I think it is very wrong of GH to get rid of Kelly Monaco, mostly because of a minority fans not liking her. She is a great actress and deserves much better treatment! As the old adage says, you can’t please all the people all the time.
why kill off the character?! Just write her character better than you’ve been doing. this Sam IS NOT the Sam from when she was with Jason. this Sam has no spunk. killing off the character is a really stupid move!
I won’t miss her at all. I always found her very annoying.
