‘AGT’ Backstage Fight Between Howie Mandel & Simon Cowell
Howie Mandel is the longest-lasting America’s Got Talent judge. However, Simon Cowell has the most experience despite being on AGT for six seasons less than Mandel. Despite that, there are rumors of some backstage problems between the two men after a recent episode saw them compete for a golden buzzer.

Howie Mandel & Simon Cowell Argue Over Golden Buzzer
There have been a lot of changes this season on America’s Got Talent concerning the golden buzzer. For the first time in show history, all the judges got two regular golden buzzers. This happened on the show when Simon demanded a second golden buzzer, and that led to everyone getting two.
There was yet another change that came when Terry Crews revealed that the judges would all get yet another golden buzzer in the live rounds. It was during the live rounds that Cowell and Mandel had a disagreement about their golden buzzer choice. Both men wanted the same golden buzzer.
After the Japanese group Airfootworks finished its act of dance and acrobatics, Simon Cowell said he was “about to get myself fired” before reaching for the only Live Show Golden Buzzer of the night. This was against the rules. Each week, a different judge got a Golden Buzzer. Last week was Sofia Vergara’s turn. This week was Howie Mandel’s turn.
“I feel like I’ve been abused!” Mandel said on the air. Crews pointed out that Mandel beat Simon to it and Cowell said “I just couldn’t help myself.” However, things seemed to get heated backstage.
What Happened Backstage With Simon Cowell & Howie Mandel?
Howie Mandel said he planned to “Go to H.R.” about the issue (via The U.S. Sun). According to reports, things got heated after the show ended, and the two moved on backstage. There were reports the two were yelling at each other backstage.
Howie tried to set things straight when the judges were on the red carpet for photographers. Howie once again complained about what Simon did. He broke off an interview to confront Simon once again. When Simon ignored him while taking photos, Howie stood between Simon and the photographers.
Heidi Klum pulled Howie away, and Simon said, “You cannot do that.” Howie also mentioned Simon touching him when he reached for the buzzer. Howie is a famous germaphobe. “In 15 years guys that is the only hand I ever touched by accident,” Howie said.
However, knowing Howie Mandel, there is always a chance this was all done in fun. Mandel loves to goof around, and this could just be his way of messing with Simon Cowell to amuse those around him. However, Howie emphasized this was not a PR stunt.

I wish they would replace Howie with someone who can actually see how talented some of these contestants are. He’s not funny anymore and is pretty rude to a lot of them.
