‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Real Reason Maggie Sajak Denied Hosting Gig
Since Wheel Of Fortune host Pat Sajak stepped down from his iconic role, many fans of the show have been theorizing why his daughter, Maggie Sajak, wasn’t offered the hosting gig, to take over for her father. So, why was Pat’s daughter denied?
Wheel Of Fortune: Pat Sajak Has Been The Face Of The Popular Game Show
When longtime viewers think of Wheel Of Fortune, they automatically think of Pat Sajak. He was the host of the show for four decades. When you host one game show for that long, you become synonymous with it.
Much in the same way that Bob Barker was synonymous with The Price Is Right or Alex Trebek was synonymous with Jeopardy!, Pat Sajak has been the same for Wheel Of Fortune as well.
With Pat stepping down from his post, there are many viewers who are still curious why the network didn’t choose his daughter, Maggie Sajak, to take over for her dad.
Fans Still Divided Over Ryan Seacrest Being New Host
Over the years, Maggie Sajak has been part of her dad’s workplace in different capacities. She would do things like take tours of her dad’s dressing room and film other things around the Wheel Of Fortune set. With her dad officially hanging it up as the host, many Wheel Of Fortune fans felt it would be a natural transition for Maggie to take over for her dad.
Since Pat Sajak stepped down, it was announced that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest would be taking the reins. Even now, many fans of the show are against this move, with many calling for someone else to take the show into a new era.
Ryan Seacrest will officially take over Wheel Of Fortune hosting duties when Season 42 of the program premieres on September 9. It isn’t a stretch to say that many viewers are very apprehensive when it comes to this changing of the guard.
Wheel Of Fortune: Why Didn’t Pat Sajak Pass The Torch To His Daughter, Maggie Sajak?
Maggie Sajak has the role of social media correspondent for the show. However, many Wheel Of Fortune fans hoped that she would take over for her dad. As to why she didn’t assume hosting duties after Pat Sajak stepped down, Maggie has also been busy with law school, and is more than likely pursuing a career in that field.
Maggie Sajak graduated from the postgraduate program at Columbia University in May 2023. Many suspect that her lawyer ambitions are keeping her from committing to a larger Wheel Of Fortune role. She is still very much involved with the show, just not in the way that many viewers had hoped she would be following her dad stepping down.
