Here is what you need to know about the woman who tried to steal Elvis’ home.

Who Tried To Steal Elvis Presley’s Graceland Home?

According to U.S. Attorney Kevin G. Ritz for the Western District of Tennessee, Graceland is a “national treasure.” He said that Findley “used a brazen scheme to try to defraud the Presley family of their interest in this singularly important landmark.” Ritz further stated that all homeowners deserve to have their property protected from fraud and that the Department of Justice will prosecute anyone who attempts to commit financial crimes.

According to the charges (via Deadline), Findley pretended to be three different people working with a fake private lender (Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC). She claimed that the late Lisa Marie Presley had borrowed $3.8 million in 2018 and used Graceland as collateral.

She then allegedly filed a false creditor’s claim and fake deed of trust and started a foreclosure auction on the property.

Luckily, Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough, took quick action against Lisa Jeanine Findley. When the foreclosure auction started to take form, she filed a restraining order against Naussany Investments. This earned her a temporary injunction.

This is when people realized the fraud involved and the judge halted the foreclosure. Authorities said that Findley “allegedly took advantage of the very public and tragic occurrences in the Presley family as an opportunity to prey on the name and financial status of the heirs to the Graceland estate.” Also, the woman is charged with trying to steal what belongs to the Presley family for personal gain.

Findley tried to defend herself by saying it wasn’t her who was trying to defraud the Presley family. Moreover, she claimed it was “a Nigerian identity thief.”

After Elvis Presley died in 1977, Graceland became a museum and tourist attraction five years later. Pricilla Presley turned over the rights to the home to her daughter, Lisa Marie. However, when Lisa Marie died in January 2023, Riley Keough inherited the trust and ownership.
