‘Bachelor’ Alum James McCoy Taylor Accused Of Sexual Assault
Bachelor alum James McCoy Taylor was arrested Sunday in Texas on charges of assault and unlawful restraint. On Monday when the initial news broke, the extent of the charges was not revealed. Bachelor Alum James McCoy Taylor Accused Of Sexual Assault
James McCoy Taylor was arrested on Sunday in Texas for a warrant stemming from an assault and unlawful restraint that occurred in April. At the time it was unknown exactly what happened. Now, police reports are emerging and he is being accused of sexual assault on a 19-year-old college student.
The girl alleges that Taylor was forcing himself on her. After going to his home in Bryan, Texas, the two were reportedly kissing in the bedroom. According to the report, she alleges that he began to get intense and had a look on his face that scared her.
She reportedly went into the bathroom where she texted her friend that she wanted an Uber. When she returned to the room where he was allegedly naked on the bed. According to the girl, he walked her to the door but then slammed it, forcibly kissed her, threw her on the ground, and groped her genitals.
The girl reportedly spoke with police the following day where they noticed multiple contusions on her hip and butt. They also viewed the text messages sent to her friend.
Police spoke with James McCoy Taylor as well who said the encounter was “enjoyable and consensual.”
After being booked on the charges, he was released on an $8,000 bond.
He Gave A Statement Denying The Allegations
James McCoy Taylor spoke with People and denied the allegations against him. He said, “I’m a pretty big guy but I was trying to ‘unlawfully restrain’ a girl and she just … got away?… and walked right to her Uber right outside my house? With NO injuries? Trust me, if there were ANY injuries they’d be all over the internet.”
He continued to say, “To people reading this: If you want fame, it never ends up like that. If you want money, it never ends up like that. If you want to ruin my life, it always ends up like that… keep it up. I would never hurt anybody. I’m nice to EVERY person I meet.”
Taylor added more to his statement saying he doesn’t even know her name because they weren’t together long. However, he thinks she wouldn’t have really wanted all this to happen if she could go back in time.
He said, “And I don’t hate you either. I just wish I knew where you were coming from and where this came from.”
The teen’s father says she has since changed schools since the incident allegedly occurred.
Taylor first appeared in Bachelor Nation when he competed in JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette. He finished in fifth place.
He is also an aspiring musician who uses his platform to spread awareness of current political issues.
