Welcome To Plathville: New Chapter For Kim Plath In Season 6
In previous Welcome To Plathville seasons, there was a lot of drama surrounding Kim Plath and Barry Plath’s split. With the new season coming back to TLC, Barry is doing his own thing these days, and so is Kim. Of course, TLC did their best to milk the split drama for as long as they could, but now, things are moving on to the next chapter.
While Barry Plath focuses on things like fitness with his children, Kim Plath showed off a houseboat and more. Now that Olivia Plath and Ethan Plath are no longer together, what kind of relationship the mother and son might have is also a point of interest in current scenes.
Was The Houseboat Just A Prop For TLC?
Previous TLC scenes for Welcome To Plathville showed Kim Plath on a houseboat. As glorious as this alternative form of living might be, it’s a little less practical when you have as many children as Kim does. In scenes on the show, viewers saw how cramped the living situation was on the boat.
While that type of living arrangement might be suitable for a single person or a couple, it gets more complicated the more bodies you have, especially in a tight, cramped space. So, it wasn’t a major surprise in scenes when Kim suggested hanging out at her boyfriend, Ken Palmer’s place. However, as fans saw, Ethan shut that down.
Not surprisingly, between his split from Olivia, seeing his mother again, and his mother having a new man in her life, it was a lot to take in for Ethan.
Welcome To Plathville: Where Is Kim Plath Living Now?
With the new season on the air, many Welcome To Plathville fans are curious about Kim Plath’s current living situation. Many fans even suggest that the whole houseboat element was just a plot device to move the storyline along and not actually a real situation.
Based on the latest tea making the rounds, it seems Kim Plath moved in with her boyfriend in September of 2023. While Kim initially turned down the idea of moving in with Ken, it seems she eventually warmed up to it.
After all, a $609,000 Florida home with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and five acres of land surely beats a houseboat any day. In that sense, it’s not entirely surprising that Kim Plath eventually agreed.
