Undeniably, The Golden Bachelor was an experience that Leslie Fhima won’t soon forget. In many ways, it is crazy to think it has already been a year since she began her journey. Unfortunately, she didn’t walk away with the man of her dreams while vying for Gerry Turner’s attention. However, she was a finalist in the competition for the first-ever Golden Bachelor‘s heart. Although she thought he was going to propose, the rose was given to her friend, Theresa Nist, instead. While it stings not to get the final rose, Leslie has been building back her life after the reality TV show.

On Instagram, Leslie Fhima reflects on her journey. “A year ago I embarked on a journey that changed my life.” She continues, “Being on the @goldenbachabc was the best experience of my life.” However, it has been difficult at times for Leslie who made it to the end of the show but wasn’t given the proposal from Gerry Turner. But she has shown she is resilient even through the pain of not being chosen. She shares, “I made friends.” Since the reality TV show, Leslie has met up with many of the other women from the show. Recently, she and Theresa Nist spent time together in Minneapolis.
Furthermore, she acknowledges, “I had personal growth and I had the best time of my life.” Even without getting the fairy tale ending, Leslie recognizes she had an experience very few have gone through. Additionally, she is deeply appreciative of the support system that carried her through her heavy moments. She says, “Thank you to everyone for your support in the last year.
