‘General Hospital’ Is Steve Burton Leaving Again?
General Hospital fans are up in arms as the current storyline appears to point at Jason (portrayed by Steve Burton) leaving the soap opera again. The actor just returned to Port Charles in the spring after his character was presumed dead for two years. Now, there is some speculation that Steve might be leaving GH once again. Here’s what we know so far.
GH Storyline Sets Up Jason To Leave Port Charles
It seems like the writers aren’t planning on keeping Jason (Steve Burton) in the General Hospital storyline for very long. Of course, viewers are upset about this because Jason is a fan-favorite on the soap.
Jason was already missing from the ABC soap opera for a couple of years. On the show, Agent John, also known as Jagger Cates (Adam J. Harrington), blackmailed Jason so that he’d work for him. Ultimately, Jason decided to work for the FBI so that he could prevent Carly (Laura Wright) from going to jail.
He returned to General Hospital after he completed his assignment with the FBI. However, it seems like Agent John is not eager to let him live his life freely. Jagger Cates is looking to control Jason’s every move.
To protect Carly, Jason is willing to do just about anything Jagger asks of him. The agent’s latest request has to do with Sonny (Maurice Benard). He wants information about Sonny or Jason will be kicked out of town again.
Recently GH spoilers have shown that Carly is egging Jagger on. Her actions will likely land her and Jason in some serious trouble.
Who Is Leaving General Hospital?
Although it seems like Jason might be forced out of Port Charles once again, he isn’t going to be leaving General Hospital. The storyline is ramping up to come to a climax as July sweeps come to a close.
Steve Burton confirmed earlier this year that he signed a two-year contract on the soap opera. While the fan-favorite character isn’t departing from the daytime drama, there are other actors coming and going from General Hospital at the end of the summer.
Jonathan Jackson is returning to the soap after more than 10 years. He will be reprising his role as Lucky Spencer in early August. It is expected that Jonathan will stick around for a while following his return.
Bryan Craig, who played Morgan Corinthios on the soap, will also be making a comeback. Morgan will only appear in one episode though, which is expected to air sometime in August.
Additionally, there are some whispers that Lulu will wake up soon. Fans may see her return to the soap soon as well.
Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) will be MIA from General Hospital for several months. He is working on Disney’s The Villains of Valley View. The actor is expecting to return to GH before the holiday season.
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.

yes they have to keep steve/ Jason. I hope Carly and Jason get together as lovers. they mean so much to each other. Sonny needs to kno the truth and how wrong he was about Jason and Carly. Ava and Cates needs to go. mayb Cates and Ava shoot at each other mistakenly and they both die. Sonny can hook up with Natalia
