Judge Gives Mama June A Win In Custody Battle
The judge has given Mama June Shannon a win in her custody battle against Michael Cardwell. She is fighting for custody of her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shannon but her late daughter, Anna Cardwell’s ex-husband also wants the tween. So, what has the judge done to benefit June’s case? Judge Gives Mama June A Win In Custody Battle
Mama June Shannon is currently fighting for custody of her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shannon. When her daughter, Anna Cardwell was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma, she did not want to think of the end. Yet, June and Anna’s sister, Pumpkin knew she had to make some major decisions in the event she did not make it. Anna had two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee she would be leaving behind. Kylee was her child with Michael Cardwell so she knew he would get custody of her if she passed.
Sadly, Kaitlyn’s biological father could never be identified so Anna had to name a guardian. She wanted her second husband, Eldridge Toney to have custody but June felt she could give Kaitlyn a better life. In the end, nothing was filed so June and her husband, Justin Stroud took over. Immediately, Michael came in and filed for custody. He maintained that he had a great relationship with Kaitlyn after the divorce and even paid for her expenses. Now, the two have met in court and June has already gotten a small win.
According to In Touch Weekly, the court signed off to get records from DCFS (Department of Family and Children Services). This was per Mama June’s request and the motion states:
“Such evidence and testimony is material to the matters before the court to allow the court to make an informed decision regarding the best interest of the minor child in this custody action.”
All of this makes sense given the fact that June has alleged Michael Cardwell was abusive toward Anna during their time together:
“During his marriage to Anna, [Michael] frequently physically abused Anna and the child and it would not be in the child’s best interests to be in [Michael’s] care and control.”
She stated this after Michael claimed Anna Cardwell and June had a “sordid” relationship. Anna had been very open about her mother’s false promises and betrayal toward her. She also sued her and TLC for nonpayment of $300K worth of earnings from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
Up In The Air
To get those records was a small win but still a win for Mama June Shannon. For her part, she will be turning over her drug test reports since early 2023. Fans have long questioned her sobriety so this will finally put those rumors to rest. As for what Kaitlyn wants, she has filed a declaration to the court stating that she wanted to stay with her grandmother. However, some disputed whether or not she actually wrote this or not. In the end of it, Kaitlyn did say she wanted to speak to the judge on the matter:
“I also wish to speak to the Judge to inform the court of my wishes.”
If she gets that opportunity, this could change the direction of the battle. Or, the records could be enough to seal the deal. Michael Cardwell has vehemently denied any wrongdoing:
“Michael denies these allegations. This is the first time that any of these allegations have been made against him. He and Anna had a great relationship when they were married and simply separated due to differences in opinions and personalities.”
Time will tell what will happen and where Kaitlyn will be placed but hopefully, it will truly be where she will thrive and what is best for her.

Ana wanted her family to stay together so June Shannon is carrying out her daughter’s wishes rightfully so in raising her granddaughter Kaitlin.
the child shouldn’t go to June. she gave up on her youngest daughter for sister to raise. plus she will spend every dollar the child gets. she did it to Anna and honey boo boo. she won’t change her ways. don’t do it to that little girl.
From what I recall Anna and her daughters were staying with Mama June after Anna got sick. So that shows she reunited with her mom and trusted her to take care of her kids. Michael probably just wants social security money for 2 minors.

I think that anyone who take mama June’s side is as crazy as she is. this is a women who lies steals her kids money. has felonies and let’s not forget never took care of her own kids. I believe June can be in her life and I believe Michael would of let them. Ana wasn’t even cold yet when mama June took Kaitlyn. if anyone is doing it for the money it’s Mama June. there is already a contract being drawn up for Kaitlyn like really. plus she would get the disability money as well. Mama June has always been about the money. Anan didn’t talk to her mom for years only coming back into ger life when she was diagnosed. that’s it. Her mom let Ana get abused and did nothing about it. she is lying to the press the courts and all of it. Ana has said who Kaitlyn father is Caleb. don’t you think it’s funny how mama June doesn’t want any of her kids nor the grandkids father to be part of their life if they aren’t together. She has a creepy husband now which they only knew each other a few months before marrying both felonies. I believe it’s all about money. Mama June has only destroyed her family and it’s only keeps going cause they all want money. God forbid anyone work a real job. funny they get all this money and live in a mobile homes. I believe Mama June had it her head even before Ana passed shebwas going to take Kaitlyn no matter what. I hope Michael gets her. He and Ana may not of been together but they were close. and a great routine. He took care of her since before 2 years old and always to this day called him daddy. He paid for her financially paid for her school and everything he doesn’t need her disability I bet he would even say that too. can’t say that with the other criminals. Michael doesn’t even have a record. and the fact that Kaitlyn says she wants to stay with June and no visitation with Michael is no way what a 11 year old wrote shebwas definelty corsed in saying that and no 11 year old wrote these words either that vocabulary was better than mine at 48 I don’t believe it at all for one sec and it doesn’t matter what she says to the judges to me it was all planted in her head she donenit before with her own kids and now doing it again. Like saying Suga daddy didn’t want Alana when it wasn’t true. if you believe anything this Women said your crazy. her own kids have said on TV that June shouldn’t get them but all a sudden changed their took. why. who cares is Ana moved in her for the last weeks of her life. she was still with her husband. she only did it so Kaitlyn was already there I believe. it would be easier to get her if she was already there. I bet if she got it she will spin it and the poor girl will have nothing when she turns 21. like Alana missing 36,000 from her savings acxount and mama June saying I’m not giving it back it’s my money ok thief. this is such a sad story. I believe that these sisters and daughters of Anna should be with Pumpkin and Josh because they are very good parents and aunt and uncle have real love for these babies like they do their own children ❤️ and I don’t think that should be with Mama June Shannon at all because she is all about money have don’t have any love for these granddaughters Hampton

it’s no way that june should have custody of this young girl. she didn’t raise her own children, she ,without hesitations gave up Lana to Punkin. the majority of people already can see that june only wants this child for making money. June always destroys everything she touches and she doesn’t care. if she actually cared about Anna she would have been in her life along time before she got sick. June only cares about herself!!!
I think that Kaitlyn should stay with Michael and her sister Kylee but with visitation rights with Anna’s family, especially Pumpkin who’s more mature and has her life together along with her husband. Michael has always treated Kaitlyn as a daughter and even paid for her education at a Private school along with Kylee. Michael has been in Kaitlyn’s life since she was a baby even though he wasn’t her Paternal father. Again, as long as Anna’s family has full visitation rights. Don’t split the girls up it’s bad enough they just lost their mother and Kylee immediately went to live with her father Michael, which the family knew would happen but let her stay with her sister unless she absolutely wants to stay with the family without being coerced
A step-parent has no legal grounds, unfortunately, but if she stays with her grandmother, at least she’ll have access to her sister.
i disagree with you totally. step parents love the child just like the parents did, by law they may not have rights, but that’s no excuse for them not to have custody of a child who has lost their parent. especially if they have a great relationship with the step parents. putting them with someone that never was in their lives every day, its not a good idea. they will rebel, just like this child is doing now, bc she is allowed to do things that she wasn’t allowed to do before. btw june isn’t a good example of motherhood at all.
step parents do have rights in Ga through the equidible care act, and I think she belongs with the only dad she’s known and her sister for sure. June doesn’t care about anything but the money!
I totally agree. The girls should stay together as long as Anna’s family have visitation rights. The girls have been through so much trauma already. I truly hope that the courts rule in favor of the girls staying together. Nothing against Mama June, but like others said she wasn’t even able or unwilling to raise Anna and turned over Alana to Pumpkin and Josh’s custody. She even refused giving them money to help support Alana. Look at how she stole Alana’s money. It’s bs.. she refused to give the money back to her when she has the money in the bank. All she cares about is money.

If June wins custody it means she has a better storyline on the show. Her storyline has been dead since she doesn’t do drugs.The show’s entertainment value is largely through Pumpkin, who is kind, funny, believable, and both the sister and mother anyone would want. It is inconceivable that June would even be considered given her track record as a paternal guardian. are we all forgetting what happened to Anna the mother of these kids under June’s watch , she was repeatedly raped

Um…the show is entertainment..there’s a lot of things we don’t know. I think its silly to judge June and say shes a bad parent. Her kids turned out pretty good to say the least. I think their excellent young ladies. Not arguing. June knows her failures better then anyone. Look home when you can and just remember kindness is free.

Mama June, should no way in hell should she get her granddaughter. All she wants is the money. Look how she took Alana money and the Court system was not monitoring her with Alana. I pray the judge don’t give her custody.

have you actually seen the show of which everyone is commenting on? We don’t have to say bad things about her, she showed us who she was and even her kids say she is not a good mother . She puts men before her kids ((seen on show), lost $500,000 + too drug addiction (plot twist I never saw coming… I never saw Honey boo boo), stole money that Alana made through her pageants and appearances which for industry kids have a special account June spent most of it and had refused to pay her (Alana rightfully thought her college and housing would paid for with this account), While on drugs she had her 19 year old take custody of Alana and eventually sign over all rights to Alana, did I mention that one of her dirt bag men Raped Anna for years!!! So this isn’t Gossip it really happened. I don’t really understand
