Hallmark’s Ashley Williams Hosts Dating Reality Series: ‘Small Town Setup’
At the TCA Summer 2024, Hallmark+ was announced. Along with the news of the newly branded streamer, was the announcement of new reality shows “with heart.” One of those series is Small Town Set Up, hosted by Ashley Williams.
This new series has the sound of a classic Hallmark movie, but it is reality television! Here is more information.
Ashley Williams Is Matching Up Couples In Hallmark+’s Small Town Setup
The new streaming channel Hallmark+ is coming. With it, a slew of new reality series. One is called Small Town Setup, hosted by Ashley Williams. Although it is not going to premiere until 2025, The Futon Critic shared some details. Firstly, this series is described as a “heartwarming, unscripted, romantic comedy docu-style dating series.”
The synopsis shared that “in each episode, we meet different hometown parents with a big problem – their successful adult child is living far away in a big city – and is still single. The couple gathers their neighbors and asks for help to find a match for them to go out with. Now, the entire community is on the hunt to find the best three daters for the ‘city single’ to go on dates with, in the hopes that they will fall in love, move back home, and live happily ever after.
Ashley Williams Is Channeling Her Inner Kelly Ripa
When Alison Williams recently shared this new Hallmark+ project, she shared on Instagram how this has been something she has wanted to do for a long time. However, it was a “secret.” However, her closest friends knew that she always wanted to be like Kelly Ripa. Moreover, Alison had the opportunity to meet her idol.
I wanted to be a host. My ‘Inner Kelly Ripa’ wasn’t something I always talked about – close friends knew and would laugh at me and one time actually forced me to go to her birthday party and tell her she was my hero. She laughed and hugged me as Kelly Ripa does.

Ashley Williams Created Make Her Mark For Hallmark
While a lot of fans know Ashley Williams from Hallmark romcoms or How I Met Your Mother, Ashley is also a talented director. She is also the brainchild of Hallmark’s Make Her Mark program. This allows a female director to shadow and learn from another female director. The first recipient of this program is Signed, Sealed, Delivered star Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe.
However, the irony is that although Ashley has directed movies for other networks such as Lifetime, she has yet to direct one for Hallmark.
