My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans saw that since the TLC show debuted, Whitney Way Thore went through quite a lot of men. Avi Lang womanized, scammed, and cheated. But now, fans wonder if it was all fake. You might recall that his story played out on MBFFL in Season 5.

In Season 12, the TLC star moans about being 40 and single. At the moment, people see she’s interested in a man called Kenny who owns a squirrel. Thus, he acquired the nickname of “Squirrel Guy.” At the same time, she still holds a flame for her anonymous French tutor who MBFFL fans believe was a fake storyline.
Whitney Way Thore blasted her way through Lennie Alehat, Avi Lang, Chase Severino, French Tutor, and Buddy Bell. Lennie’s the one she claimed made her pregnant and that turned out fake. So, My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans become suspicious about almost everything the TLC star says. Right now, the complexities of Avi Lang lie in the sights of skeptics.

Like the French tutor, Avi Lang avoided social media. But, he slid into her DMs anyway. He was Jewish and the TLC star kept him secret because of his aversion to cameras. Not that it stopped him from appearing on the show, albeit mostly blurred out. Then, disaster struck. He was also involved with multiple women, including Nada Louis, who was his fiancée when he hooked up with Whitney.
On Reddit, an OP familiar with the men that Whitney Way Thore dated questioned how real Avi Lang was. They wrote:
Avi Fake?
I’ve seen everyone on here prove their points with saying all of Whitney’s exes were fake: Lennie, Chase, Frenchman. But what about Avi? Or has this already been debunked. I have no doubt that she faked it but it just seems so extreme to fly out someone from a different country and even get Nada involved in the first place.
In the comments section, it turned out that some TLC fans agreed that Avi Lang might have been the real deal. Here are some of their thoughts:
- He was real. He was just a garden tool (ho) and using her and other women. I believe it was Nada he was actually engaged to at one point…Whitney was extremely jealous of her and I think treated her poorly…because she was angry that Avi apparently “loved” Nada more than her.
- Avi was real in the sense that Whitney was really in love with him and he wasn’t a paid actor like the others were.
- She gave him thousands of dollars so it’s pretty clear he scammed her…So, while not a TLC paid for romance, also not a legit suitor. I don’t think she’s had a legit man in her entire adult life.
